on a slightly lighter note (hope we can comment on other things too, if not someone will remove me I expect ) it's great to be a Junior Member! Haven't been classed as a Junior since about 1959 so I'm relishing it.

I am brand new here and I feel that I need to be here cause I am craving ciggies and I really don't want to smoke any longer. I am smoke free now for 50 hours and I am getting really antsy. Any coping suggestions? I keep telling myself "you just had one" and that seems to stop me from thinking about it for a few minutes.
WAY TO GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I see your signature - wasn't sure if it was old though! GREAT JOB!!! I am proud of you cause this is hard! How are you feeling now after 44 days? Please tell me it gets easier?!!
Just take it hour by hour and bare in mind it will get easier and easier. As Boudee says do something anything!! with an activity of 3 or mins the craving will pass.
Walking, reading, plasticine (one of my faves love to fiddle!) write, tidy or best of all! if you can, sleep
The first few days are hard and again as boudee says hydration is paramount, no need to be chogqing a pint! but sip regularly, amazing the difference it makes!!
Stay strong keep posting! and make sure you reward yourself!! if you get to the end off the day smoke free, Indulge yourself!! ~Buffy x x
Lots of water to get rid of the toxins, gum, walk the dog, I carried cinnamon sticks in the car and used them cuz I had to have something. People looked at me strange but I didn't care. So, come along for the ride with all of us.
FASTEN SEAT BELT sign is on. Buckle up...you'll need it
Thanks so much guys! Still hanging in here! Been 61 hours now...
Welcome nosmoke, good luck on your quit, keep strong, you can do it. As the others say, read, walk the dog (don't kick it) anything to keep you mind of it. Again good luck, keep posting, great bunch here, we all help each other.
Ok here I am again! 72.5 hours no smoke! Going bonkers today, the doctor gave me patches, but i am not giving in to them or the cig. I will not put the patch on until I feel I can not do it on my own any longer. Today is rough...but I am managing! Hubby is going outside to smoke - he is being very considerate
