Hi everyone,

Well ive just joined this forum as im quitting today !! Just thought i would say good luck to evryone else that is quitting today or recently !

Am a little anxious right now but feel i have to stop so any help from you guys and girls would be appreciated.

Had my breakfast and now ripping my hair out for a ciggie :mad:

Hi mate,

Yeh we can help each other out that would be cool ! I have done the ceremony of smoking my last cigarette this morning and set my mind to never smoking again.

Must admit im struggling though as having coffee and no fag is a killer !!

Lets stick together buddy and we can get through the first 3 days then we will be on our way !!

Hi Seren,

Im not using any nrt ! Am gonna do it the hard way and go total cold turkey.

I actually quit last year for 6 weeks but got sucked back in grrr ! However i did manage to do it cold turkey and was actually ok so gonna do it again.

For me the first couple of days are gonna be the hardest but i know i can do it so just got to stay focused !!

WELL DONE for your 5 days too !! You must be feeling the benefits already ?

I just cant wait to finally be free of nicotine once and for all

I gave up for 3 years but stated again last summer :mad:

HOORAY !!! Yeh we can definitely do this buddy !!

It may not work for some people but for me cold turkey is the way forward simply cos i believe yur body can heal itself and also if you use patches you are still putting nicotine into your body ?

Have you looked at the post with the list of all the toxins you take in when you smoke ? JESUS that scared the crap out of me !!!!!! :eek: :eek:

Another thing to .. think of this........

If you took the nicotine from one cigarette and injected it into you it would kill you in a bout 10 secs flat !!!

Yes I looked at the crap they add to fags.... I can't believe we put that stuff into our bodies.

I want a cup of tea but scared as I know what I usually do after a cuppa :rolleyes:

Yeh i know what you mean i want to eat breakfast but i know i will want a fag after !!

Im just gonna distract myself with stuff and tidy up and get rid of any ashtrays etc.

I actually dont have any fags in the house either which helps as the shop is miles away and i cant be bothered to walk lol !!

Do you have a games console ? Im gonna play jedi outcast on my pc as that distracts me too.

Been dying to get on and see how you've been getting on Riz, seeing jay here appear from no where put a smile on my face so I can only assume it feels great for you to have a Quit buddy too!!

Well it looks as though you two have things sussed, this site is a brilliant way of making you stick to your guns and not have a smoke!

I am on day 12 and even though I don't 'post' everyday I like to have a wee look as other peoples tobacco free days do help!

Also the support on here is amazing!

Sorry Ruby perhps i should of explained a little better, what i meant was that if it was possible for you to extract the nicotine from one cigarette in liquid form and then inject it that is when it would kill you instantly.

Im guessing the fact that we inhale it means its not being directly infused into our bodies ? But a more gradual process so our bodies can take it ?

I dont know the exact facts all i know is that smoking sucks and im not doing it ever again !!!!

Good luck i agree the first 3 days were the hardest withe day 3 being a nitemare but i am on day 10 now and i am flying along. Drinking lots of water and trying to be healthy mind you am going to have a pizza in a minute it is my dinner yum yum
