about last week i had high fever and vomiting.. i cannot eat and drink cause everything would go out again.. i admitted to the er and got my blood test.. everything look normal but my creatinin is a little high.. its 1.11 mg/dl and my eGFR is 60. I stay at the hospital for 4 days.. rehydrated and i slowly eat and drink.. after that i got my blood test again.. and my creatinin is more high than before.. it was 1.19 and my eGFR is 55.. my doctor plan me to take another blood test and urine test next week.. i'm female, 33 years old.. obese.. as far as i know i dont have diabetes (my blood glucose is 110 at random) and hypertension but when i'm in the hospital my BP sometime goes up until 150/90 in the morning then in the evening goes about 120/70. is there anything that i should worry..? since my eGFR is below normal and according to the stage i'm in CKD stage 3.. i'm very anxious about next blood test.. my appetite is decrease again because of that.. thank u..

I know its scary but you can make positive changes that can you help. Your current renal function is what people after transplant would love.

I was diagnosed at 21and that was 19 years ago and already at stage 4 with get of 20. They expected dialysis would be 2009, but I got an extra 10 years and started end of January 2019. Now I wasn't over weight if anything under weight and my BP runs low bit I made some simple changes and it made a lot of difference for me in persevering my remaining renal function.

Firstly you need to make sure you are staying well hydrated, ditch the dark sodas like cola and drink more water, also caffeine is a good one to restrict. You need to decrease your salt intake, and takeaways, ready meals soup and ready made sauces are all high in sodium (salt). You mentioned your obese so you need to lose weight and this should help your blood pressure. Of not you need BP medication if it continues to be high. Also if you are able to be active it only has to be a walk. Last of all a well balanced diet is key.

Good luck with everything and we are here to help support you.

I am at stage 1, and I can't imagine what 3 is like. I hope you get results and feel better soon.

same here. My GFR six month ago was 106, and now 103; it scared the crap out of me.

I have kidney damage from chemo so don’t know if it is the same. I have had creatinine at 200 and egfr as low as 28 but have never had symptoms as you have described- could it be an infection or something else?

I have found chair yoga and chair tai chi for exercise are helpful, both for weight and blood pressure. I also think that the high fever and vomiting are something else. Keep searching.

High fever and vomiting aren't symptoms of stage 3 CKD, and your GFR is barely stage 3 at that. I would work with your primary care physician to determine the cause of your current illness. This forum is more of a "support group" and medical doctors don't post here, but people can are their experiences and perhaps offer useful advice. Hope you feel better. It's good that you caught your CKD early so that you can prevent the progression to end-stage renal disease (stage 5). Management of blood pressure and blood sugar will be key since diabetes and high blood pressure are the #1 and #2 causes of CKD.

thank u all so much for the advice and support.. when i'm at the hospital i was diagnosed with viral infection actually and dehydrated.. my internist says that is the reason why my creatinin is elevated.. thats why i'm shocked to know that in the 2nd blood test my creatinin is still high.. supposed to be back to normal because i already rehydrated and the fever is already down.. i'm going to take another blood test again and urine test in the next 2 days and hoping for the best.. the problem is i'm very anxious right now.. before my 2nd blood test i already feel great and ready to go on with my daily routine but when the 2nd blood test comeback is like i feel down and tired.. cannot eat.. feel itchy all the time.. its like all the symptoms that i read about ckd is on me.. i'm still resting at home.. cannot go to work.. its been a very hard week for me..

I am not a doctor but rather a kidney patient and I can tell you this ;

Your kidney function is very normal. The only thing to worry about would be your weight and your blood sugar levels. Also from the numbers you have given us it seems like you may not have a healthy diet plan. Try to switch to a DASH + KETO diet for controlling your weight and BP numbers. If you control your weight & BP with diet now you will have nothing to worry about.
