I tested positive for covid a few days ago and got the oddest symptom: very, very sore throat keeping me unable to swallow and thus unable to drink my water. Been to ER twice and getting admitted now to jydrste me. Gfr dropped from 30 to 24. Wish me luck.

Pain meds has helped me drink water without pain but I'm still having pain after drinking Boost, but this pain is more manageable. They want me to try a throat spay to see if thst helps as well. Very sorry to hear this. Yes you must stay hydrated because hydration is critical to kidney health. However covid can also attack the kidney all by itself, sometimes damaging people’s kidneys to the point of needing dialysis. This could be an acute kidney injure you can come back from. Hard to know. Good luck.
