Weight loss journey of a busy mum

Feel so hard some times, I know it's the right thing to do, be a good role model for my son in the long run. But there were definitely times I found hard to do the calorie counting, in addition to 1 million other things needed be done. But I know i'm not alone.

Please don't get yourself down, you are certainly not alone, we will all help and support you.

I totally understand how difficult it can be with the calorie counting, especially when there are so many other things in the day to do.

Try and stay positive and keep telling yourself that you can do this, we are all here to help and encourage you.

Post whenever you need to, there is always somebody around to help and talk to you.

Stay strong, you can do this :)

If calorie counting get you down you may take a break and focus on eating healthy and cutting portions. Showing our healthy choices to our kids and being happy are good examples that will be remembered.

That's a good point.I plan to take a week off calories counting when I reach the 1 stone weight loss goal.

You are not alone as the group forum members are here for you.

I'm the same as I put on some weight, but not going to get down as I have to do this slowly and steadily.

So chin up lass and you can do this slowly but surely.

You are a first class Mum.

I totally understand - the calorie counting gets easier i promise! I have stopped counting the veg now, as it comes to so little - i just guess. I also have a special serving ladle and I know how many calories are in 1 ladleful of pasta, mashed potato, rice, and other family staples such as veg korma and bolognaise. That means I can serve myself at the table with the kids, without having to weigh things. I'm trying to be a good role model too!!! They will see you making healthy choices - its all good, well done!

that's a good tip, as veg have very low calories, they won't make a difference on total calories...there're times I just go for weight watcher's ready meals, easier for calories counting. Speaking of being a good role model, my 3 years old son now ask whether there's bad stuff in the food he picks in supermarket:), because I read labels on food packages and tell him whether there are bad fat and e numbers in it. Don't get me wrong, he still prefers a doughnut over an apple, if given the choice, but at least he eats most fruit and veggie.

I found it easier to put my portion on the boys plate as it helps put things in perspective about the portions I am giving him too.
