Not really sure what you are trying to say, Jayne (love your dogs by the way).

Basically if you come to this forum, you want to lose weight healthily. The way I look at it, no foods are forbidden, and I am not obliged to eat anything I don't want to. I have downloaded the NHS 12 week plan, and am roughly abiding by it, and I am using MyFitnessPal to track calories and try and stay under 1400 per day. Over Christmas this has gone out the window somewhat haha! But before that, when I stuck to the plan, I was losing 1-2lb per week. This is deemed a healthy rate at which to lose and keep it off. Support from everyone on here both when it's going well, and when you fall off the wagon from time to time, is what will help you ultimately succeed, we hope. So join in and we will do our best to support you.

Hi Jayney,

There are quite a few different diets around these days, high fat, low fat, vegan etc. so it might just be a case a finding a diet that you like.

Weight loss is largely a matter of reducing the number of calories you eat, and in theory it doesn't matter so much what foods these calories come from (although there may be other nutritional benefits to certain foods)

Could you be a bit more specific about the foods you don't like that you feel you should be eating?

Welcome to the NHS weightloss forum.

Start by weighing yourself and doing all your measurements.

Then check out your BMI on the NHS calculator, this will give you your daily calorie allowance. You might want to download a fitness app to log them. Many people use My Fitness Pal, I personally use Lose it!. They're both free on the App Store.

Check out the welcome newbies thread in the pinned posts area - lots of useful info there.

Looking forward to seeing you around.

Good luck 🍀

Hi Jayney61 - I too have a limited range of foods that I eat (no veg, fruit, salad, nuts, limited meat etc). When I started back in April I wondered how I could lose weight. The reality is sticking to your calorie allowance, irespective of what you eat. I lost 2 stone in 5 months on a diet of bread, potatoes, biscuits, cheese etc. Yes I know my diet is unhealthy. Yes I know I'm probably setting myself up for health problems in the future, but I've managed 46yrs on this type of food and never had a weight issue until I hit my 40's. I'm now a healthy 8st 6lb In weight, run 3 times a week and have never felt as good in years. It can be done even without eating rabbit food, just remember to weigh and count every calorie you eat and drink. Good luck
