I'm trying to laugh about this, but honestly I am just so frustrated right now. I have to stop eating at midnight. A chain smoker, I also have to stop smoking at midnight. I can't use sugar-free cough drops while sleeping with my CPAP, which dries out my mouth. I can't chew gum after midnight. I'm allowed clear liquids until 7:30 am. My normal routine has been sleeping from 11 pm to midnight or 1 am, then I'm awake for 2 or 3 hours. I normally smoke, drink coffee, and nibble on saltines, because my only meal of the day is around lunchtime.
I'm not due at the hospital until 11:30 tomorrow, with the actual surgery 2 hours later! Like it's not bad enough that they're going to make 4 slices in my abdomen, but now I have to go into surgery while totally cranky. On top of that, I totally fade out physically around suppertime every day. Assuming that all goes well, I'm going to be heading home after the time I usually put on my pajamas, and my dog knows that I'm never out after dark. Couldn't they have bumped me up the schedule by a few hours?! π€¬

Oh dear, NorasMom ! I hear you all too well. Keep reminding yourself that itβs only one day and try to make light of it by telling jokes. You might make yourself laugh about the whole situation! Keep Smiling! I wish you a quick procedure and a relaxing βrecoveryβ
it is always stressful the day before for we do have our own way to do our time and they are getting in the middle of it ...just have to do it for one day right ...have someone stay with you that you can watch a show or listen to some great music...i know it is upsetting ...but you only have to be off the usually routine for a day ...give the fur baby lots of loven before you leave and let them know you will be back soon...love and some great laughs and fun for the day before and during the time to wait for it ...take care and be safe...
The worst part it seems is having your routine messed up and the morning wait time. You got this! Before you know it they'll be knocking you out and then you'll be home. Wishing you a quick recovery!
You sound like me...if they made me come in early in the morning! It's a lousy feeling having no control over a situation, and having your schedule messed up just adds insult to injury! Good luck with your surgery!
Good luck for today π« I recommend taking an antihistamine 15 mins before you go to bed. Sleeping pills use the same stuff! And the smoking bit π± I'm a smoker myself, and part of my nighttime routine is having a cig before I go to bed! I have a cig when husband wakes me up when he comes to bed, generally later than me, for example: I'm in bed at 9ish, and he comes to bed at 11ish, plonking himself into bed which wakes me up π really good luck for today then πI'm sure your dog will understand when you're not able to walk them, maybe seeing your face grimacing as you hold your stomach when you move π« they tend to pick up on stuff like that. Maybe ask someone to walk your dog for you. At least it'll get a walk in that day and give you temporary peace π€
Oh, I understand! When I had my foot surgery 3 years ago, it was scheduled for around 1:00 in the afternoon. I was very unhappy. The worst part was that they pushed it back to 5:00! I thought the day would never end. Good luck and I will send you loving thoughts.β€οΈπ
Since this is always behind for me, I hope your surgery went well and you have a speedy recovery. I also hope you get right back to your routine after the brief interruption.PrayersππΎ
I wonder if it is twice as hard losing your comfortable routine just when you would appreciate it the most, before a stressful situation. I sure hope it all went well!
sorry, not like you weren't already stressed before the restrictions!! as it's a day later, i hope you made it okay and the surgery went well. let us know how you're doing.π€
Not nearly as whiny as I was this morning! I'd waited too long for the surgery, and it was infected, so I have more pain than I should, and they had to send some goo to the lab to get checked out. So, I get to take horse pill antibiotics for the next week along with as-needed pain pills. I also have laryngitis, from the breathing tube, which I was warned about ahead of time because I'm a smoker. The kids had a ball on the ride home yesterday while I was trying to talk to my daughter in the back seat while mostly using hand signals. I do admit that I wound up resorting to the traditional one-finger method a few times. π
Iβm so glad to hear you are back home and doing better. Maybe you can rent falalalalaβs tube girl to help you sleep and get back to your routine. Sending you lots of hugs and prayers. πππ€ππ€
How much? I can send the money right now! I'm sleeping just fine, but I'd love to sign up for Borrow-a-Grandchild. That's where you feed them lots of cookies, buy them personalized duck calls, and then send them home, right?
