You know what that means, don't you? πŸ€” My either! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Not really , it's MS AWARENESS MONTH!! Let ppl know about your MS! It's a thing people! Tell them about you go through, and there still isn't a cure. That we need one! Not tomorrow, yesterday! NOW!! The more that people are aware, the more focus there is on this horrible disease!

I know it's hard telling people about what this does. Believe I know πŸ™‚ But it's gotta be done!

Yes, I agree, Β Jesmcd2 ! I go out more often than not, with the assistance of my wheelchair. When people inquire, I say it’s because I have β€˜ms’. They are very sympathetic and they don’t know much about β€˜ms’, so I give them my 30 second introduction to this horrible disease. I give them enough information to make them aware. Many usually give me comforting words of encouragement. Let’s all spread the word! :-D

I had that opportunity just this AM at the hairdresser's. She thought it was a bone disease.

I told her it was from wearing my jeans too tight in the '80s which then affected my ability to walk properly in the future.πŸ˜…

Hi Jesmcd2 πŸ™‚I never told anyone about this horrible disease, when I worked as an RN. In the 90s, one had to have no physical limitations to advance in my field.

Now I tell everyone my life story regarding MS. We all need to educate ppl. There are about 1million of us in the US. We Need a cure NOW!!!

Wearing my awareness ribbon today! Bought some MS awareness t-shirts to wear as well! I knew almost nothing about it before I was diagnosed with it, even though I had a boss years ago that had a sudden flare and was diagnosed with it. I only knew a little from his experience, and he didn't share much. More should be out there about it! I am more than willing to let people know I have it and the little I know about it. Still learning more each day as I go!

Easiest way to explain it to ppl is the wire analogy I think. Where if you take a wire and take the coating off, you see the little wires... that's not supposed to happen, but it is to us. In our brains and central nervous system. I told my grandson I short circuit. πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ

That is how my husband explained it to me (he researched it extensively when it was just a possibility), and I think it is a great analogy, because it is something that most people can visualize and understand. And I love that, short circuit, I'm so going to use that!
