Love the sign!! 🀣 I could have demonstrated a number of silly walks over the yearsπŸ˜† today I decided to walk without my slippers on.. had foot drop- stubbed my big toe.. definitely had a silly walk right into the bathroom and put my protective slippers back on πŸ˜‚

Ever since I tried to leave my baby toe behind on the door jam when I was blowing into the bathroom at a fast rate of speed… And broke it. I turned into my mother overnight, and started wearing slippers on a regular! Never thought it would happen to me… Lol.

I think door jams & other inanimate objects jump out at my toes!

I hate it when the ground moves.😜

I've lost track of the toes I've broken running into corners, walls, table legs. The significance of the slip in slippers is often misunderstood as meaning easy to put your feet into. For me, the slip in slippers means misjudging distances from immoveable objects.

I could do the silly walk any day. But definitely not anything fancy on a catwalk. πŸ˜…

Given that this site is populated mostly with Americans I suspect that the reference on the sign in falalalala's posted image to The Ministry of Silly Walks has probably gone straight over the heads of most (except for the few who have heard of Monty Python's Flying Circus - which screened in the late 60s and early 70s). And Pythonesque humour also seems to be misunderstood by most inhabitants of the US of A, but just in case those who have never heard of it would like to know more, here's where The Ministry of Silly Walks comes from.

The Ministry of Silly Walks is actually a world renowned sketch, which still lives on today - see the video clip on this link for just one example of complete silliness in walking.

I love it! John Cleese and his cheese sketch, or parrot sketch and so many more!

Don't forget the fish-slapping dance - it's about as silly and ridiculous as anything could be but it still cracks me up even after all these years......... :)

Did you get "The Goodies" over in the USA? They were just as silly as Python, but in a different way and supposedly aimed at an child audience but still hilarious for adults. Their "Attenboroughs" sketch still sticks in my mind.

That one I haven't seen. I have seen programs with David Attenborough though.

The Goodies' Attenborough skit was a spoof on David Attenborough and his velvety voice-overs in his wildlife programs - they "wildlife stalked" some Attenboroughs in their "natural habitat" - you might be able to find it somewhere, I did have a quick look on YouTube but didn't have time to search properly. (I think there may be whole episodes of the Goodies lurking in dark corners of YouTube...)

I enjoyed the movies but don't remember the TV show. I remember the Benny Hill show though.

At one-time my husband threatened to wrap me in bubble wrap cuz he didn't want to be accused of pushing me down after taking me to the hospital 3 times in one year. The nurses were starting to talk πŸ€”
