G’Day, my beloved ms family. In case “YOU” were wondering, that is “YOU”. Yes, somebody out there loves and supports “YOU”, through all your faults and failings I still love “YOU”. I also claim caring and pride at your many brave accomplishments. Having had one or two myself, I know that even if “YOU” do not always recognize them, “YOU” have many. “YOU” got out of bed eventually, got dressed and made a brew, coffee, tea, something else. That is an achievement. So CONGRATS.

Today let us talk about pain. First off, there is no pain in ms, it is all in your imagination. Take an aspirin and stop whining. Ever heard this? I call rubbish and rubbish loudly from the top of the highest tower. I might suggest ignoring whoever says this and getting away from whoever said it as fast as “YOU” can. People like this are to be avoided, as they do not know what they are talking about. No matter how many letters they have after their name. Find somebody who has a more open approach and theories about treating your pain.

Look closely at your pain, study it. “YOU” and I have ms. Nobody can tell us why. All we are told is that it will never go away and that it gets worse as the years go by. Not very encouraging, but those are the facts for most of us. Places in our body hurt, sometimes they really hurt. Not every problem is somebody else’s responsibility to solve. Sometimes it is ours. We are the ones in pain, so we should make an effort to help solve the pain. ms is a disease affecting the nerves. Instead of taking a pill to weakly calm nerve itching and scratching until “YOU” bleed. Why not try an ice pack on the area and nerve root. “YOU” bought from AMAZON your nerve chart, and “YOU” can follow the nerves on your hand up to your shoulder then neck. I just checked mine. Spend time, study your body. Know where the pain comes from and where “YOU” can intercept it and calm things down. A pill and a visit to the doctor are not always the fastest way to solve your problem. Sometimes a bag of peas will really help, besides being healthy. If “YOU” paying attention, “YOU” may notice that “YOU” did something wrong in your behaviour. A very hot shower or bath, repetitive activity, or just overheating. Look to solve your own problems yourself.

Not everything can be solved by frozen peas or corn, but perhaps before “YOU” run to the emergency room, “YOU” might want to look at what “YOU” can do for yourself first.

I will do what I can to help me, first

Pain is a very subjective matter, Royce. What might be painful for you might not be so painful for me. I think that is why my doctors usually ask to quantify pain when they ask you to describe it. Good post, and Keep Smiling :-D
