Hello
Does anyone have foot supination and have you found any good walking shoes to accommodate it?
Thank you!
Have you talked with your doctor/neurologist/podiatrist about it? I would think they may ideas specific your issue. Stay safe!
i had to look this up you should go to an orthotist or podiatrist for an insert to be custom made for this problem.
I want to state I'm not a doctor and the internet is not best place to go and fix your medical issues I strongly suggest you see a doctor and do pt to correctly fix the problem
I found these exercises you can do while you wait to make an appoint to see the orthotist or podiatrist and get pt for it
Exercises
Place hands on the wall.
Move one leg back, a few feet behind the other. Keep both feet firmly on the ground.
Keeping the back leg straight, bend forward at the front knee. There should be a stretch in the calf muscle and ankle of the back leg.
Hold this stretch for 30 seconds. Repeat three times on each leg.
Hi. Thanks for the reply. I have taken every route you suggested. You name it I have done it. Have orthotics but some days they don't cooperate with my shoes which is why I am continually searching. It is frustrating as you know. I hope your foot drop is not as severe as some. I also deal with this. So what shoe are you wearing now? That is why I am searching. Do you use orthotics? Do the exercises help you? There are a lot of exercises out there. I have found some that work better than others.
Thanks again! Have a great day!
I only wear skechers
I discovered them when I was shopping in kohls . I have also found them in Ross and the Skechers store is the most expensive.
I do have foot drop and I do the exercises from the MS Gym. I have a paid membership but I have posted the free things that they have here. I also wear Bioness which helps with my foot drop
My foot also turns out to the right as well but I don't have Foot Supination-Outward
I do have orthotics but I don't use them I got them because my insurance paid for them.
you can search me and see what I posted for the MS Gym or you can go to the site
Here is the link to the ms gym to get the free exercises
themsgym.com
click on the free tab and it'll take to everything that is free
Yes!!!
I have for many yrs. bilaterally. You can see the wear on the outside of my running shoes. Always worse on the right foot. I like a flexible shoe (brooks pure flow were great til they changed the shoe with the next editions).
Now, I’ve developed worsening right foot supination that is associated with foot drop. 😞
I ignore this. Sorry . I would like to help you .
My wife has used the (Walking Company). They will map your foot and make recommendations.
Hopefully it will just be insole inserts.
Thank you.
Newbalance.com has shoes that address supination and overpronation. They have shoes that help to correct the problem while wearing shoes. This will not eliminate the problem, just help you while wearing the shoes. I wear NB shoes to help over-pronation due to an old ankle injury.
Hi! Thank you very much! I was on the NB website searching for a good fit.
I have my son looking at their site as well.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you again!
I would put ‘supination ‘ in their search bar. It will show you all the shoes that target supination. Read the descriptions and find one that seems to fit your need. I’ve had my shoes almost two years. They are well made shoes. Hint: when you find ‘your’ model number, price shop.
