My neurologist prescribed this foot drop system. It stimulates the muscles to lift the foot. I apologize if anybody has recently discussed this. With me not being on one, I was excited for you of course, but couldn't really understand. If you use, or have used one, do you like it? Pros and cons please. Thank You

NESS L300 Foot Drop System
@ SometimesCrazy, I have an L300, and like it. Bioness has come out with a new and improved one called an L300 Go. I am going to purchase it in the next few weeks. I really like my L300, it takes a bit of getting used to, but it really helps with the foot drop. I've been using it for almost two years and have had no problems. Their sales and customer support are very helpful.

I have the whole system you will love it. You have the thigh unit it helps you to bend your knee. The calf unit helps you lift your foot. It is not painful. You will have a rep that will adjust you as you improve or need any adjustment.
I saw the new one yesterday and it is really nice. I would suggest you get the neck remote as well because you maybe wearing pants and can't get to the device unless you pull up your pants leg. You can go to their website and see a video
I have seen article on those and looks interesting 👍 Let us know how it works out 🤷🏼♂️ Did insurance cover the cost 🤷🏼♂️🐾🐩 Ken
I wore a L300 for several years and liked it. You can wear normal shoes and the electrical stimulation is not painful. When I moved and had to change doctors, the new doctor didn’t like the way my foot lifted so he prescribed a typical AFO that flexes my foot to prevent foot drop. Now, my calf muscle is losing muscle mass. I think the electrical stimulation helped maintain my muscles. I’m going to resume using the Bioness L300 in the exercise mode and see if that helps rebuild the muscles. This new doctor wasn’t familiar with the Bioness units and I think he needed to be more open to this method of treatment for foot drop. My insurance didn’t cover the cost and it is expensive. I used a payment plan over a year or 2 to pay it off.
I used it as well when I was having physical therapy. Seemed to do the trick but it was cost prohibitive for me. Waaayyyy too expensive. They did offer a payment plan, but even with that I couldn't afford it. I have since started using the TurboMed AFO. It is worn outside the shoe and I have been very pleased with it. Not stiff like a conventional AFO and definitely not as hot. Covered 100% with my Medicare. Check it out online at turbomedorthotics.com.
I used one for several years and loved it! It kept me walking a few more years. The support is great. Sadly, insurance does not cover it for MS. It is quite expensive. I haven't used mine in about 3 years now.
I actually tried one and it would have been nice if my insurance would have helped out but the wouldn’t even help pay anything. The cost was $3,000.00. I didn’t have that kind of money. I did use it and it did work and if I was able to get it, I think I could have used it. It did make the nerves in my leg have a reaction.
I would like to know what your doctor said you should do about your left foot drop . Mine kind of does that also .
I guess I did not read down far enough to see what the answer was to my question .
It would have been nice to have but money was I couldn't do it
I have been using one in physical therapy. I had lost quite a bit of muscle mass in my weak leg thigh. I have bought a EMT for home (about $35) and do exercises with it every day at home. If I don't do my home exercised I definitely notice I get weakness again. You just have to stay consistent or otherwise you will pay the price. Keep moving as long as you can!
I want to ask you what is EMT Because my legs need to be built up. And could you give me the information where to get one.
Thank you ssdw1958
It is an Electronic Muscle Stimulator (EMS), sorry I listed it wrong. You can go to Allegro medical.com and get one for $30. My therapist suggested a EMS 7500 dual channel so it fires in cycles and on both my legs. My right leg is my weak one and muscle was really shrinking. It goes with some small pads however I use Dura-stick plus pads 2"x3.5" above my knee and a 2.75"x5" on top of my upper right. My therapist set the controls on mine. She is pretty active and bought herself one to tighten up some of her muscles. Very helpful and I use it every night. If I don't for a couple days I notice it. We have to stay active. Good luck!
