A brace that holds and angles the foot and ankle in the best position for maximum comfort and mobility. This device can also relieve stress on the knee.
Since we have had so much chit chat about AFO's lately... I figured a post about them would be good!
There are all kinds of AFOs... Which I didn't know, when it was time to get mine. But let me tell you what!! That pair of torture cast's!! Were Not Going to happen!!😂🤣 Nope! No Way! No How! 😐 So I refused and got these!
Talk to your Dr about prescriptions for them , sometimes it's covered, 😐

I use my ACO for ankle support, decrease hip hike due to foot drop and decrease my knee snapping back into hyper extension .
All this causes two different shoe sizes and two different widths to get to accommodate this contraption! Also a lift on the left shoe to even it out. Everything is 5 years old. Am waiting for new everything. When they’re done, I’ll post a pic.
I wear 1 on my left leg for foot drop towards the end of the day. One bonus I have run into is that it seems to help with balance, so I am far less likely to be laying face down kissing the concrete!
I’ve been wearing my AFO for almost 3 years. I put it on first thing in the morning and it stays on until I go to bed. If I didn’t have it, I wouldn’t be able to walk. I’m so very grateful for it!
