Heat and humidity

This heatwave bites the big one. I haven't been able to do anything outside of the house only stuff inside where the ac is. My tractor needs worked on so the grass can be mowed. I'm going out of my mind.

Give yourself credit for the stuff you're getting done inside.it's not worth compromising your health by overdoing it in the heat.

Yesterday we had an Excessive Heat Warning of indices of 105. The early morning low was the mid-70s :(

like falalalala said give urself credit for what u have done ur health is more important

I get frustrated with not being able to do stuff too! I try to remember "It will still be there" tomorrow, next week, next month! My lawn is like a hay field but I cannot mow in this heat. I'm thinking of getting goats!

Mines been a hayfield all summer. Goats are a possibility for me also. 1 1/2 acres of grass means they shouldn't get hungry from lack of food.

in reply to dailygrump40

3 acres so more goats?

That's a possibility. Hahaha

The bigger yard sizes were better sounding years ago. Well, before M.S. They seem to go right along with big houses. They're nice to have when you have help with keeping them in order.

Lower temps gets a Hip, Hip, Hooray from me. But still supposed to be high 70's to low 80's. Hopefully no humidity.

I live in an apartment, so I don't need a herd of goats to take care of my lawn. But what really bums me out is having to turn down family activities. They don't really "get it", telling me that we'll only be out in the heat for an hour or so. If they felt the way I do after awhile in the heat, they'd hermetically seal themselves in their house with the A.C. on all summer long. And why do backyard barbeques, community fairs and fun stuff happen during the hottest time of year?? What's up with that? 🍉

Having all the activities during the hottest part of the year maybe done to get you to concentrate on something besides the heat. Doesn't work for us!!! I hate turning down attending family activities also but " we'll only be ouside for an hour or so. Or so", usually turns into several hrs and me crawling into the house. Then after they witness that then, only then do they realize how bad the heat, humidity, and sun effect us.

Thanks so much! My family doesn't live with me so they don't see the aftermath. They doubt my diagnosis and explaining the crazy symptoms sounds like something from the Twilight Zone to them. I used to overexplain in an effort to convince them they are real, but we've come to an understanding that I'm quirky, and that works.

dailygrump40 This heat and the grass cutting chore has me always thinking to replace aggressive lawn grass with AstroTurf! But then, I would need to vacuum the lawn! Can't win here! Perhaps plant a whole bunch of wildflowers and call it a day! :-D

I just let the grass grow then I can see what I've already mowed. Astro turf woukd be ok if I didn't have 2 dogs. Hahaha

Easy peasy dailygrump40 just have your little fur babies not go on your lawn! Or at your peril, let them fertilize the wild flowers! :-D
