More meds more diagnosis

I went to see the lung specialist yesterday. I found out that I have asthma, an upper respiratory infection, and bronchitis. He is also testing me for COPD. I will have to deal with asthma for the rest of my life unless I have COPD. TennCare only gives you 5 meds a month so needless to say one inhaler is $330 I can't afford that so I told the pharmacy to forget it and the other med which is a pill is $131 I couldn't get it either. I did, however, was able to get 2 inhalers and the doctors office gave me a sample inhaler. I still haven't gotten all my meds this month either but they are cheaper than these. How does the government expect us to get the meds we need? On the plus side, I have today and tomorrow left on the IV Steroids. They are finally starting to help some. My rant is over now and I feel a little better.

I'm glad you know what is going on with your lungs. I don't understand how they can restrict your medications-that is criminal. And as far as rants go, you're a rookie! Don't get me started on Big Pharma, then you'll see a real rant! Hang in there!

Yep, they don't like me when they have to do a hearing for some of the meds they wanted to try. I tell the judge how it is along with the lawyers.

I hope you have an antibiotic for that URI and bronchitis. Feel better!

Hi! Look up Goodrx on your phone, computer etc. there you can put the name of the med and see the cheapest price at different stores. My mom needed an eye drop that was $60. We looked up Goodrx and got it for $20 something. You don’t have to have MS. It’s for everyone!

Good luck!

Do what CourtneySchools says and see about goodrx. It might work for you. I would hate to see you go without your meds!!! Also talk to your pharmacy. Sometimes they have them cheaper than the script price!

Oh I so like when my memory comes back! 🤗🦈💕

That was the pharmacy discount price. Crazy how much meds cost anymore.

Glad you are feeling better. Sorry about the meds. Have you asked your dr if the drug company will help you?

If I had to pay for every drug I take or have been "required" to take I would either be dead or non compos mentis in a bed 24-7. I know this because I have been in both situations (not the dead part...just extremely unhappily hurting, constantly uncomfortable and having unpredictable "collapses" and unable to function except to get to the bathroom, barely).

Please, mbrooks20, talk with your local welfare office. They may be able to directly help you or give you other suggestions. I never thought I would ever "stoop so low" as to require such help, but having had several collapses while on the job, it was made clear to me I couldn't continue the job (and that meant I couldn't pay my bills). It was simple, really, "We don't require your services anymore."

The welfare office and the social workers did their best considering this is rural PA and there is nothing within 30 miles of here, including taxis. The VA is my absolute best resource and I "woud'a never thunk it" when I was in the Navy or now, for sure, without the advice of my social services advocate. My family is thousands of miles away and they could not help.

I wish you the best. Nemste, bodega39
