Quick update: I had cold-like symptoms, so I was kind of glad to test positive so I could get Paxlovid. Unfortunately, the Paxlovid hasn't improved my feeling lightheaded, and my ears are ringing. But my doctor said to keep taking it, so I am. My hubby says that he feels 98% better. Plus, now we don't have to isolate. 😊
UPDATE 9/20
Just one week after testing positive, my hubby tested negative today! He says he feel well. I'm so grateful! 🙏

I'm sorry to hear that you've gotten Covid too. It's nice that you don't have to isolate anymore. It's positive that your husband is feeling better. Paxlovid should thwart more serious symptoms from developing. I'm glad that your husband is feeling better, too.
I really have become a shut it since 2020 when the global pandemic started. With my SPMS and Covid mutations I'm staying in with my fur babies. Thankfully my newest kitten is keeping me busy and focusing on him and how he is getting along with my 28-month-old cat.
Territorial Female as you advised me. Linda Blair from The Exorcist. Ah, the hissing has finally stopped. They are now wrestling like siblings. Two tuxedo cats. So, cute!
I hope your Paxlovid helps ease your course, too. Enjoy your isolation with your husband. It's positive that he feels better, too. I hope you have a mild course. Feel better soon! 🙂🤞🤗🙏😽
Our new kitty arrived not long ago and our other is ripping out the hair on her back again. They "live" at opposite ends of the house with our aging dog in the middle...
It might help if you closed George into his room for a week or so, and then start letting him out for short periods. Gradually increase the amount of time that he spends out until he has the run of the place.
I fostered cats for a long time, and they were always coming and going. This is what worked for me.
He is his own "safe room" with a child's gate across the door opening. The other cat, at the other side of the house, is the same way. The gates both have a bar cut out so if they "dare" sneak out and risk the dog barking, they can. Gracie ripped out patches of hair when our last cat was alive. She is just a bit mentally unstable! I have to find the med have me try on her to calm her down.
I also used Feliway diffusers to lessen the stress, to great effect. It has pheromones in that work well to reduce stress. They can leave an oily residue on your wall, though, which they never used to do. It washes off, but I wanted to warn you!
Thanks so much. The paxlovid really eased hubby's symptoms pretty quickly. He's tired and has a scratchy throat, but that's it!
Three doses in, my scratchy throat and postnatal drip are gone. I barely cough. I'm just suffering from extreme sleepiness, a slow brain, and I'm actually walking kind of slow. I'm not good for anything, but I don't feel utterly miserable, which is really great.
I'm so glad that the cats are getting along!
I can relate to Covid changing everything for you. I have been missing out on so much. Eating out and concerts in particular. I wear a mask wherever I go, but it's really getting old. I'm hoping that the Mavenclad will allow me to not be immunocompromised for a while, when it starts working. A lot of my favorite classic rock musicians are dead or retiring from touring, and I want to enjoy the surviving ones as much as I can!
(If my MS was less active, I would take Aubagio, which doesn't suppress the immune system.)
Was going to say something like, "it never rains but it pours!" But, you've only got a slight drizzle 😅 it's good that you don't have to isolate like you would have done back when it was the "pandemic," so you can at least still get out and about 😁
Thanks, Charlotte! I think we can get by without leaving the house for the most part, even though the CDC has changed the recommendations. At this point, I don't want to go anywhere! 😊
Glad you are looking at the bright side of things!! So sorry you caught Covid too, but really glad you got the Paxlovid! Hope that you have a mild case, and feel better soon!!🧡🧡
I'm sorry that you got Covid too. Get plenty of rest and I'm glad that you no longer have to isolate. My doctor wouldn't give me Paxlovid because she felt the risk outweighed the benefits.
Yeah, I have high blood pressure, but after the first couple of days, I just had mild cold symptoms. In all, I don't think it was too bad. I just couldn't believe I had gotten it after avoiding it for 4 years.
Rats! If it's not one thing, it's twelve others! I sure hope you are better very soon. When I Have to go out, I'm masked. I need to stay healthy so I can get this stupid surgery over with! Enjoy your husband and heal together!
I'm glad you're taking precautions before your surgery. That's really smart. I have a friend who's going on a big trip, and I'm wondering why she's not wearing one! I guess everyone is different.
Thank you! The Covid symptoms haven't been bad; it's mostly been bad fatigue and feeling brain dead. I've been taking a small dose of Tylenol around the clock to head off fevers. My hubby tested negative today, just a week after testing positive. So his case was mild (he retained his mental sharpness, the lucky bugger) and short-lived. I'm hoping my brain function comes back, and I need to call and find out how this will all affect the timing of my next course of Mavenclad. But it could be a lot worse, and I feel fortunate.
My doctor gave me something for coughing, which didn't really develop. I'm sure your doctor would have tried this if he/she felt it would help you, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to mention it. It's called benzonatate.
