So the blood pressure meds didn't work for headaches

It actually made them worse and made me dizzy so I didn't take it last night or today. Headaches are better today and still a little dizzy yet today but it's getting better. Going to be sending a message through the portal to my neuro's office. Haven't started the lower dose of baclofin yet as I refill my weekly pill box tomorrow which I will cut the pills in half to find out if they will. I am supposed to take 10mg every 2 hours vs 20 mg every 4-6 hours. Don't have high hopes for that to work but we shall see for that as well. I started on 10mg and had to have it increased to 20mg because of the pain from the spasms. My meds were delayed being delivered because my insurance had questions for my neuro about why the blood pressure rx was being prescribed and they couldn't get a hold of anyone so I had to get a hold of them. Frustrating! Just tired today. Hope everyone is doing well.

Insurance issues are so frustrating. Jumping through their hoops makes us worse and costs them more money in the long run. Hope that you are feeling better soon.

Never had this issue with an insurance company before, very frustrating! Had to wait for it to get sorted it out and then it doesn't work after that. Irritating.

Jessie I can’t believe the way the insurance companies play with your health. I cannot understand how they can argue or even question what a doctor has prescribed. It must be very frustrating for you, I hope you get sorted soon and the headaches stop. Blessings Jimeka 🦋

It might take a week or two for the blood pressure meds to work. I heard or read somewhere, someone claimed that baclofin caused headaches for them. I take baclofin in 10mg doses for a total of 50mg/day. I hope you find a solution and feel better soon.

Jessie, I have a crazy suggestion for your headaches. My neuro told me that Alka Seltzer (or generic Alka Seltzer) taken when a headache starts will usually clear it up for about 95% of the people. I have used it for bad headaches and migraines and as long as I take it just as the headache is starting I can usually clear it up with only one dose. If I don't catch it right away it can take me up to 3 doses. Check with your doctor first but I have had wonderful results from it and so has everyone I have told about it. There is something about the effervescence that makes the aspirin and magnesium enter your system faster and be used more efficiently.

Thanks so much, Bygonelines ! I have never heard of that! I have used the Alka Selzer sinus (pill) and flu stuff (liquid) when I haven't felt good. Will definitely keep this in mind for the future.

Please be careful with the blood pressure medicine! I don't know what class of pills you're on (I'm on a beta blocker) but with some I know you have to wean yourself off.

I had only taken them for a couple of days and then bad headaches started with dizziness so there was no weining to do. They made the things worse that my neuro prescribed them for :/
