I've just started to switch taking my pills from morning to evening. No ms related medicine but Effexor, Vit.D, Biotin, Zinc. And I started to read about how you're supposed to take these. It's incredibly complex, some should be taken 30 min before meal, some after food because of stomach acid,... for some, you need to avoid other food for optimal effect. It's incredibly complex.
What do you do? any good info out there in one place? thank you in advance.

Iโm pretty haphazard with supplements, but I do know that Vit. D is fat-soluble and needs to be taken with/after a meal that contains fat.
I recently switched antidepressants and, even though Iโve always taken mine in the morning, decided to try this new one (Lexapro/escitalopram) at night. Iโve since switched back to morning as it seems to have affected my sleep. My psychiatrist said that it seems to help some people sleep better but I guess Iโm not in that group ๐
I take my vitamins in the morning and my Aubagio, Cymbalta, previcid, atavaston, at night... I also take my thyroid pill early morning hour before breakfast as instructed. Been my routine for years but you need to adjust what bothers your sleep ๐ด. Ken ๐พ๐พ
anaishunter I take all my supplements right before breakfast. I am not sure if that is the best time to take them, and I have been taking them that way for many years. I asked my neuro for guidance, but other than recommending Vitamin D (dosage) and a B-Complex, she really doesn't know if any other supplements would benefit me. She did refer to a doctor who specializes in that sort of thing and I plan on seeing them this Spring. You absolutely correct about this being complex, though. I am not sure if there is a single place where all this info exists.
Suzy Cohen, she is a pharmacist and if you go to her website she will be able to tell you when it is best to take which vitamin. Please share what you find out, blessings Jimeka ๐ฆ
I'm glad you brought this up! I think we could drive ourselves a little crazy trying to time all the vitamins, supplements, and medicines correctly, but we'd probably do well to look into it. I think timing is very important with some, but not necessarily with others. It's confusing, for sure!
I talked to my dr and she helped me fix a schedule for my meds. I noticed that the timing for some of meds was not beneficial because I was sleeping. I would wake up and have to wait for the meds to kick in and by the time it did I was going to bed. Now my adjusted schedule works by the time I wake up the meds have kicked in and are working for me
Just note I just went through this if you go into the hospital be sure to let them know that the timing of your meds was set by your dr and your not following the drug manufacturers recommend timing for the dosage
I take most of meds at night, a couple after a meal. Some I take twice a day (or more) so it depends on the medication. Have talked with my neuro about this.
