Calf spasms

Holy crap, is this what spasticity is like? Today my calves were hurting bad. My husband is a nurse and he did an assessment for blood clots and he said that’s not it. There are very clear tender points in the middle of the muscles and where they separate. After he massages them I tried to stand up and quickly sat right back down! Like I was shot in the calves!

I took my baclofen (that I take 2x a day already for nerve pain issues) and now I’m resting.

I really hope this is a freak occurrence. This sucks! I have noticed my other numbness symptoms flaring this week too. I’m letting my MS doc know about it.

I’m so glad you are telling your doctor, since this is a significant change from the norm. Baclofen can help with the muscle spasms, but I wonder if you may need a change in the dose, at least for awhile.

Thanks! I’ll be seeing my pain doc before I see ms doc again. I may ask for some zanaflex to use as needed for this type of spasms.

Yes the pain is unbelievable I also have pain in the muscles above the knees they get so bad it’s like someone is stabbing them heating pad helps in the winter and ice helps in the summer. As I am writing this I am heating up my heating pad.

These are not spasms but I also get them some times my legs shake very bad.

Ouch! Qt314grl That' not good! I know the weather effects my legs more, and getting used to these braces cause Charlie horses so bad I want to scream.

I have my tramadol, but I really try to keep my legs moving. Even if it's leg lifts just sitting here.

Sorry, just now saw this Jesmcd2 . It has gotten better. I did have one day with crazy foot/toe cramps too. Not fun

I've only had bad cramps in my left foot. Not sure if that's the spasms everyone talks about or not. Never when I'm up, just in bed.
