More spasms with Tegretol?

It seems since I started Tegretol last week to help with the spams, they have been more frequent than less...opposite of what it is supposed to do. I take this in addition to my baclofin and & Tizanidine. I tried to look online to see if this is possible but I can't find anything that says it causes more spams. It's frustrating if this is the cause of them to be more frequent. I have my MRI scheduled for tomorrow morning, hopefully, I don't start to have spasms while having it and need to have some scans redone.

Maybe the tegretol works better on its own, and with baclofen, some people find that their bodies get used to it, so you have to keep increasing the dose. Hope the mri goes well and no spasms. Blessings Jimeka 🦋 🍫

if you find that tegretol is making your spasms worse, maybe call you doctor before you take it again or until your mri is over.

Sorry about that Jesmcd2 Just think it's weird that I have been having more spams since starting it. Think I will call my neuro after my MRI and see what they have to say about it.

Just been too busy with my MRI and other stuff going on around the house that I'm going to call tomorrow. I think they have closed by now anyway.

Jesmcd2 This is my Tegretol update today: My neuro's nurse called back today (when I was in the shower of course). My neuro said I could either try taking the Tegretol once a day to see if that makes the spams less, or stop taking it all together but to keep taking the Baclofin. So I think I will skip the morning dose of the Tegretol because I think it has been making me extra tired as well...not every day but some days I seem to be more tired than others lately. That's it for now.

Thank you bxrmom 😀 I can't take baclfin. And I know when my step son took tegretol he slept all the time. So I'm not real Keen on going on it if and when it's needed. 😐😕 I think I'm going to lean more towards Botox? 😀🤣😂

Keep me posted on it though! Maybe it has to build up? 🤔

I know it's only been a couple of days but I think only taking it once a day at night might be helping. I will update after I have been on it a little longer.
