Dr appointment and ampyra

Saw my neuro today. He was completely amazed at how much better I’m doing! I know every drug works differently for people but ampyra has been my miracle!

I am walking almost normally. Since I’m not working so hard to walk I’m conserving energy so my fatigue is doing better. And that means my speech does better because I’m not so tired.

The only changes we’re making are to add magnesium to help with my toes cramping, which he thinks is from ampyra.

Oh, what a good appointment. Your neurologist sounds as though he knows what he is doing. Such positive results, I hope that it continues, blessings Jimeka 🦋 🍫 🤗

I'm glad Ampyra worked well for you! I didn't notice any changes when I started Ampyra and I stopped taking it when I received a letter which said to not take Ampyra if you've ever had a seizure. I had two seizures for the first time ever (probably due to a Traumatic Brain Injury I received two years earlier) two weeks prior to receiving the letter so I quit Ampyra.

Ampyra worked great for me the first few years to help with my being able to walk with a walker.....then gradually it helped less and less over the 3 rd yr....and then they cancelled their patient assistance program...so then I went off it totally......which so negatively affected my ability to walk much....and then I had a relapse and have lost all ability to even walk....my right foot drop is so bad it's like trying to drag around a dead limb!
