I'm having these really weird muscle spasms & what I think is spasticity. My PCP gave me flexeril. I have an appt with neuro next month. Flexeril isn't doing diddly. Any suggestions on things to help that I can do until then?

Muscle Spasms/Spasticity
I think I’d call and request something else to try. I’m sorry about the spasms.
As greaterexp suggests, I would definitely request some other "Symptomatic" Medications. I take Gabapentin and Baclofen for my spasms. they help me. I was also suggested to purchase from Amazon, lotions called "Ancient Minerals" I got the daytime lotion and the night time lotion, The night time lotion helped me the most. I massaged it onto my legs before bed. Sorry about the spasms. I hope you get some relief soon.
I noticed the nighttime has melatonin in it, does it make you sleepy? I seem to remember reading somewhere that w/lupus I'm supposed to stay away from that. I'd have to see if I can't find it.
I've got gabbapentin (we call it gabba gabba) for nerve damage in my feet. It didn't do a thing for me the other week. I really try not to take it because of the hangover the next morning.
What helped me the most at the start of my spasm issues was Baclofen. I got no help at all from flexeril. I now have a Baclofen pump. Very little spasms now. Just have to have the pump refilled every 3 months. It took a year or so to figure out that's what I needed. Hope and pray it doesn't go that far. My pain Dr at the time told me. A baclofen pump is the final step in controlling the spasms. If it doesn't help nothing will. Sorry to scare ya but if you know what to expect maybe you can find something to help easier than I did.
for me and everyone is different...am on a vitamin regement that works for me on muscles.Calcium magnesium b and d....I also soak in hot water on worst days with olive oil rubbed in.compression wear has been the Godsend.sometimes day and night but wow it helps.Somedays...I curl under the blankets and accept the day off....best wishes
I haven't been able to take a hot bath in years, does it not affect you? By compression wear, do you mean socks & such? I could do that in the winter, but definitely not the summer. Unless I move to the North Pole, maybe then......
for the moment of shock in hottest water it does good for me cant stay in.I use leggings from rite aid too small that suck my muscles in..about 8$ a pair but thank goodness it works some of the time. They are cotton, cant stand heat and sweat.air is on 69 degrees when I have to wear hot.cant always win.summer d vitamins sunshine if you can sit in it...not me.i always am grateful to look at it though!
Massage it that helps get a roller pin and go to town but I was take meds as well. I take baclofen 30mg and tizanidine 6mg
