My neuro prescribed this for my spasms in addition to the baclofin because he didn't think we should increase the dose. I am to take it twice a day. If that doesn't work after 2 weeks, I can take 2 tablets twice a day. I'm starting out at 200mg. Took the first dose after it arrived today and so far no relief but we shall see, it may need to build up in my system.

Thanks jimeka I'm sorry you have allergies. Luckily I don't have allergies to anything they I'm aware of. I'm hoping this helps with the leg spasms. Will keep everyone updated 😉
I also take this. After my last hopefully final trichotomy surgery for trigeminal neuralgia I have been weaned down to just one tablet daily. I found that make me very weak. Don't think that happens with everyone. Never heard of it be used for spasms.
I've never heard of it to be used for spams either Oneson I was very surprised when my neuro prescribed it. He said it's for seizures but has other uses, such as spasm. Twice a day dose made me too tired so I now just take one pill at night and so far I think it is working
Hi, bxrmom . I took Tegretol many years ago for migraines (they tried absolutely everything for 25 yrs. until Lyrica finally worked). Nothing happened except that my hair began to fall out. Fast forward about 20 yrs or so and my neuro just recently prescribed it for the nerve pain behind my knee. I don't recall the dosage but it made me feel like a zombie and it didn't work either. Maybe it will work for you...I sure hope so! Sukie 427
Thanks, Sukie427 for sharing your experience with me. So far I don't think it is making me tired though this afternoon I took an hour nap because I was tired but I think that may be because my dog got me up with her barking at grandpa when he got home.
I will for sure keep you updated Jesmcd2 So far I have not noticed any difference with taking it. Not sure why I have to wait 2 weeks to see if I should take 2 pills instead of just 1.
