OVER PNEUMONIA!!

Since Christmas I have had double pneumonia, the worst case of over 20 cases I have ever had! I haven't been that sick since I had strep throat when I was 14. High fever, nausea, diahrrea, extreme dizziness, horrible cough, headache auras couldn't see, ache all over, muscle spasms in legs and arms and back, insomnia, sore throat, earache, etc., etc., and oh yea, flared up MS! Finally better somewhat, so I can post a funny story! My husband was putting Biofreeze (a solution for aches and spasms) on the tips of his fingers. Me: are your fingertips hurting? Him: no, they are very dry. Me: well, how about trying coconut oil on them; I don't think that will help. Him: Just leave me alone; I have been using it for a week and its helping! Me: thinking to myself--well, Biofreeze has alchohol in it and is drying them out further, but my husband is very strong willed, hard headed, and does not take advice from me!! I Wanted to ask him if he was spraying WD40 on his arthritic knee, also??

Anway, it is ridiculously cold here in central Kentucky, with 3" snow on ground. Trying to keep house warm and still keep electric bill under $400. So glad I am done with DMTs cause they were making me worse. Probably because of my MTHFR mutation my neuropsych discovered. L-methylfolate calcium 15 mg is making such a difference with my maintenance meds. Sleeping better, finally!

I had pneumonia 3 years ago landed in the hospital for 8 days not good at all I was out of work 14 weeks ever time I had gone to the doctors they would say one more week out of work not good. Well now I am out of work altogether we won’t go there. Be careful because you could get sick easier. I try to politely say please don’t come over if you have a cold. Just be careful.

@jesmcd2 No, haven't heard from Linda. Have seen a few posts on here from her to newbies, so she is still functioning. More than I am doing. Still lung cogestion, now laryngitis, fever comes and goes. Just ache all over. thanks to the old moster residing beneath it all. I don't think I have ever hurt in so many places! Sick of bone broth, herbal teas, essential oils aromatherapy, oatmeal, and fruit. Been nauseated a few months now. GI that did the 2 scopes and dx gastritis and esophaghitis said take Tums! Yea, right! Doesn't phase me. And, oh yea, follow the Ulcer Diet. Ok, tried the MS diet, then after more MS brain damage went on the Brain Diet, now gotta try the Ulcer diet. Such a joke. I think I will shuck them all and go get a Whopper from Burger King, and fried apple pie! (Well, since we have 7" snow and ice, and 18 miles from town, don't think that will happen, One can dream!) Organic chicken bone broth is a decent cup of hot liquid, I discovered! Since the other mutation (other than the MTHFR mutation) of alleles mean my cells don't assimilate protein, guess I need to drink until I drown - the bone broth!

I say take 2shots and drink a glass of oj. Go to bed!😀 But I'm not a Dr!😄

Feel better soon!

@Jesmcd2 it is very frustraiting! Alcohol makes me very nauseated since I have been sick! Actually, just about everything is nauseating! I have to make myself eat (or drink, had a smoothie this morning this burped it for several hours). I don't think I'm gonna get over this lung and head thing until spring. Woke up with horrible headache. Tried essential oils, coffee, tea, hot cloth, cold cloth, breathing steam - finally took 1 mg oxycodone and the headache left for about 5 hours. Coming back again. Weird thing, my daughter feels the same way in Ohio, but poor thing has to work as Respiratory Therapist at hospital. We agreed its gonna take til spring! Been in bed since Christmas Day! Can't get well cause of MS and she can't get well cause of Crohn's Disease. But, we still living and breathing!! Can't believe the number of people dying from the flu! She said she was more sick than some of her patients! Hope and pray all of you stay far away from the flu!

Pneumonia is very bad I had it 4 years ago I ended up in the hospital for 8 days and out of work for I can’t remember I think it was 6 weeks Not good at. Every time I went to the doctors they would say you can’t go to work. It took so much out me. I know what your going through I hope you start to feel better. My suggestion to you don’t let any one in your house even if the say there not sick. I hope your daughter gets better did you get the pneumonia shot I did then they gave me a booster shot.

Be careful of the flu.

Be safe.

agapepilgrim Glad to hear you are on the mend. Hope your recovery continues. The cold certainly doesn't help. Our compromised immune systems don't help either. I went to church on Christmas Eve morning and was sick by mid-afternoon. Just started feeling better last week. Question for you.. What does MTHFR mutation mean? I guess I'm too lazy to try to look it up. Blessings, Lynn

Glad you're feeling a bit better agapepilgrim

Years ago I had a young soldier patient that came for follow up of unimproved constipation. He reported that the suppositories I suggested tasted horrible (LOL)

agapepilgrim in reply to erash

@erash that is hilarious! I would probably do something like that with my cognitive failure. The other day I picked up the wrong bottle (same size) and put eyeglass cleaner in my eye rather than the medicated drops for dry eyes! I was screaming!! Washed it out quickly, then had to go to eye doctor and get antibiotic drops. Never a dull moment when cognitive failure sets up in brain, or as the neurologist said, "your right brain no longer communicated with yiur left brain." Mmm......should I take the two parts to marriage counselling? Maybe he could teach them communication skills!!!

agapepilgrim What is MTHFR mutation. Maybe I am just not informed. Thanks, and glad you are over pneumonia. I was sick for almost a month with upper respiratory issues, especially. Finally had a terrible reaction to prednisone. The antibiotic helped.

@joc-42 MTHFR is one of the latest discoveries by medical field of DNA that proves whether or not your body is converting folic acid to folate. With this mutation, your body cannot convert folic acid to folate not matter how much you take, and that, in turn, keeps your cells from assimilating various medicines, vitaminins, minerals, and any necessary nutrients. It is a big contributor to fatigue and autoimmune diseases and even autism. Folic acid is a critical building block, so that is why I have been unhealthy all my life, and contributed (I think) to having MS for 53 years. My doctor prescribed the supplement l=methylfolate calcium 15 mg, and my anti-depressant, and anti-insomnia meds are finally working! No one believed me that pain meds, psychotic meds, valium, etc., had no effect on me. (Some just thought I wanted higher doses!). It was a great relief to finally find an answer. The DNA test also showed I had 2 other allele mutations, but there is no cure for those right now.
