Hi everyone I just want to share my latest discovery with you it's called inositol and has helped me get over histamine intolerant symptoms including eczema
It seems that there are excititory and inhibitory agents for example dopamine is excititory and it's opposite serotonin is inhibitory - estrogen is excititory and progesterone is inhibitory - that's probably why women have more autoimmune issues
Both are obvs important but when excititory is dominant it can result in eczema and histamine intolerance amongst other things
I posted earlier about dopamine creating melanin which I needed but I was having histamine intolerance symptoms including eczema due to the excititory nature of dopamine
I decided on inositol as an inhibitory agent to calm things down, I had some in the cupboard, it is very safe and the histamine intolerance symptoms have gone it is amazing stuff but it does vary the best one I have tried is from Biovea , I got some from ebay and it gave me nightmares and depression but it soon leaves your system
So it is well worth trying it works for me it may work for you

Hi, After reading your post I recalled that I had nightmares last night about the skin on my hands!
I have been experiencing skin coming off my fingers + rough skin on elbows for last week.
I don't know if this is eczema but I have had to take a different form of progesterone & estrogen for last few weeks, & have had nothing but problems since. I also started taking Inositol for last month. But last week I have been also taking 5htp for severe insomnia. That maybe a factor?
The Inositol that I bought is a cheap one though. Also I am sneezing a lot in spite of antihistamines. I don't know what to think. Fingers are a lot better today. New skin?
Thank you Lilly. Yes, I believe so too, but my usual low dose patches are unavailable, & GP freaks out over the side effects of the only HRT available now in Jersey. Will just have to wait till the patches are produced again - to know for sure I guess. I'll look up side effects of Inositol just in case though.
Well pregnenolone is that grandmother of all hormones so whatever hormone you are missing it will provide , I suffer from menopause and I used to take aguaje from Peru which is amazing and I was lucky bc my nephew imported it but the supply stopped during covid so I have pregnenolone 500mg twice a week now
Thank you Lilly! I have been unable to reply due to PC & internet problems. Apologies!
I took your advice & started the pregnenolone 2 days ago. The only pregs available to buy are 100 mg in capsule form. So I measure out what I hope is 10 mg. It's early days, but I'm optimistic! My 3 main problems now (apart from the skin, hair, nails, bones, & hip/thigh pain ! are insomnia & chronic indigestion. I hope the pregs are not the cause, but I will leave off the other supplements (other than my self sourced T3 & OTC whole glandular in the morning, & see what happens....
Hi Jenny I have been having sleep issues and took some taurine I had some in the cupboard it knocks you out it makes me sleep great last night I chewed a third of a 500mg tablet bought from Holland&Barrett you could try half but don't have a whole one is my advice even though on the Internet they say you can have 500mg 3 x a day , these natural suppliments can be really strong and do damage you have to go careful never had any problems with pregnenolone I take 500mg capsule twice a week , my husband has bipolar disorder and he is high atm which is a bit stressful for me, glad you are getting sorted Jenny
I know you don't want more suppliments Jenny but taurine is brilliant and not having sleep makes you feel crap so check it out
Thank you so Much lilly! I'm sorry you have not been sleeping, but so pleased you have found Taurine to help. I am being woken by severe pain most nights, & don't get to sleep till 2.45-3AM so have been relying on coffee in morning. I had just 3 hours sleep last night - again! so will be ordering Taurine (in powder form in a minute).
Has your Husband tried Lithium Orotate? It is said to be more effective than the massive high dose toxic synthetic stuff on prescription. I don't have bipolar so it did 0 for me. But it is safe & 5mg is the dose (elemental lithium).
Big pharma couldn't patent L Orotate, so they made a form that requires very high levels of a different form. Lithium Orotate is safe. "Each 131mg Lithium Orotate tablet provides 5mg elemental lithium. Apologies if you know all this already!
L orotate is the natural kind that was used successfully for 000's of years.
Hope you continue to sleep well, & your Husband finds relief. Best wishes.x
Hi Jenny I hope you haven't bought the Holland&Barrett taurine as I am feeling really ill after having approx. 180mg of it last night - go easy with it - I bought it from Holland&Barrett as I thought I could trust them
Husband got signed off his bipolar meds a few years ago leaving me to pick up the pieces
I didn't find out he was bipolar until I.was pregnant with our youngest daughter
So here I am watching food network waiting for this stuff to get out of my system. It's the sulpher in the taurine that I am having an allergic reaction to I think this must be a bad batch though
You are having some major battles to cope with there! I hope you recover quickly.
Please be careful with these supplements, 180mg sounds like a huge dose!
I have ordered this...BULK POWDERS Pure Taurine Powder, 500 g.
Is there some way of testing which allergen is at fault?
I seem to have developed an allergy to the magnesium chloride. The skin on the palms of my hands is still coming off, & now on my right leg it's sore & itchy + I have hives everywhere, though my elbows are still flaking without any contact with magnesium, so probably a lot of things going on there. I will have to phone quack next week I suppose, as the pain in my legs woke me after only 3 or 4 hours of sleep again.
I will leave 7 days without Biotin this time, in case I have bloods done, as it is very high dose & skews everything.
I overdid it yesterday & last night - trying to catch up with chores, & today I am bedridden! I must get some shopping tomorrow though. There is a message on the answerphone from a bipolar friend, I have not picked up the phone to see what the message is yet!
I have no idea what the pains are that wake me at night, but by day I can hardly walk - not from pain though I ache everywhere, but I am really weak, as though I have sarcopenia, though I'm too young to have that. I think it's the osteoporosis. I have really bad eyes today, so maybe an allergy as well?
I hope & pray that you recover soon. I will look up the Holland & barrett stuff, maybe the dose is too high? Take care x
A quick safe remedy for allergies is bicarbonate of soda put half a teaspoon in a glass of water it will give relief I have it first thing on a morning and in the evening it alkallises your body which calms everything right down
Seems you are having a reaction to that brand of magnesium ?
I think this taurine from Holland&Barrett is maybe a bad batch 180mg is a third of a tablet ? Not a massive dose ?
I am.supersensitive that's for sure but I want my money back paid over £20
Too much estrogen can cause skin problems yet some estrogen is needed maybe the pregnenolone turned to estrogen in your body?
Honestly it's all trial an error and guesswork isn't it ? I was getting along fine until I took the taurine I took it bc my husband was waking me up coming in after going out drinking lack.of sleep was building up and the taurine fixed it but I am paying for it now be glad when this day is over
I am back on biovea inositol I just take it in the morning it also helps with allergies
When I gave my husband an expensive magnesium tablet his legs were jumping in bed that means it was a heavy serotogenic hit - magnesium is calming calcium is excititory
Is your bipolar friend manic or down atm?
Anyway roll on tomorrow cant be any worse than today x
The problems we have trying to get to the bottom of what is causing us so much pain is just awful. How have you been ? I hope you have not got into the same trap as I have - i.e. spending all your income on those supplements that are pushed by snake oil merchants & demonised by 'Big pharma'.
Living with a bi polar husband can't help. The lack of sleep causes so many problems doesn't it?
The only Holland & Barett that I saw on sale was 500mg. Maybe something they were flogging was withdrawn? - so yes, maybe a bad batch.
It's funny that you mentioned Bicarb, as only the day before I read your above mention, I started taking bicarb, I bought 1 recently as I could not get down the stairs to the kitchen to find it! The pain killers give me heart burn, so I have cup a soup now to line stomach. I overdid the chores on Tuesday, so 2 days of bedridden & tinned sardines. Shopping tomorrow - a week late, cupboard bare...
The Magnesium that I was applying to my painful hips & thighs is basically magnesium salts that I mix with water - so topical. The magnesium malate that I had been using did nothing. I am taking the estrogen & progesterone just every other day now, to see if the hormones are maybe making the pain worse, as it seems that when I miss a dose I don't wake up with pain as often. I have not taken any pills today other than NDT & T3, but ive halved dose of T3 as it is unobtainable now. I have slept most of day!
My 1st Husband was not bi polar but he was everything else including alcoholic & so I know what it's like to have no sleep through others problems!
My friends message was just the usual, like "thinking of you, give me a call" etc. It took me 2 days to pick up the phone -(today), she sounded like a demon in a bad mood! LOL.
You are certainly right about the inositol helping with allergies, Ive been able to cut down the antihistamines for the 1st time in years.
I have ordered exercise equipment last week. I will now get washed & dressed to see what has been delivered. Stay safe. x
