Hello all. I’ve had atopic eczema all my life from a baby to now almost 70. Over the years I’ve used strong steroid creams extensively, all over my body, until I was switched to Protopic about 15 years ago- which made an amazing difference. Coupled with a really good patch test, which identified ingredients in moisturisers I’d been using as triggers, my eczema rarely flares up now. However. I’m having an increasing problem with dry skin on my legs.. I’ve tried all the moisturisers I’m aware of and found glycerin based ones suit me best, Currently I’m using Altruist, which has stopped my skin flaking and peeling, but at the moment the backs of my legs are so dry, it’s uncomfortable to walk. Does anyone have anything they’ve tried that works? I used to use Aveeno but built up an intolerance to oats and Shea Butter. I also use Neutrogena Dermatological Unscented and CeraVe - the former makes my skin flake and the latter just isn’t effective enough. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I too have atopic dermatitis.... and use Protopic along with Dupixent. Neither of which help with ultra dry skin, like I get in the winter....
However, and you might think this sounds weird, but I have taken straight Vaseline and slathered it on my legs. Then I wrap my legs with saran wrap, put on my knee high compression socks over the saran wrap and go about my business for a couple hours, sometimes all day. And when I take that off and clean up the left over Vaseline and my legs are so soft....
Has anyone tried going dairy free to aid eczemaI think it's an age old / probably old wives tale but when all else fails ?
As a teenager I cut egg from my diet as I always had a slight scratchy throat reaction - it did improve my eczema but now I can’t eat egg at all, even in cakes, ice cream, mayo, some biscuits or chocolates. I also have to have an egg free flu vaccine. Swings and roundabouts…
