Dry skin due to prolonged bandage use

Hello y’all some months ago I injured my foot and I had been wearing bandages for close to 2 months. For some time now I took the bandage off because my wound is completely healed, although I developed a dry skin problem in the area I kept the bandage on.

What would help my foot get used to this ‘drier climate’, should I use any specific kind of moisturizer? Would petroleum jelly help my case?

Thanks in advance!
