Hi, this looks sore, and I have no medical qualification to advise you. But, at an Allergy and Free From Show in March in Scotland I visited the La Roche-Posay stand, and after a consultation about my eczema I was given samples of two products. One is their Cicaplast Baume B5, which is a 'soothing repair balm'. I have found it helpful to heal open wounds where I've scratched my skin raw. If there is a secure way for you to send me your address on here I could pop a wee sample tube in the post to you, and you could try it on a tiny patch to check before you decide to buy. Their website is laroche-posay.com for more information.

When wounds take a long time to heal, it usually means there is a problem with your immune system or circulatory system, if you went to four doctors and not one of them mentioned that, i would go to a fifth

If this has been going on for quite a while, and you have been prescribed various creams, or tablets, and nothing is working, you may will to seek guidance from a dermatologist, normally a doctor will do this after all else has failed, unfortunately sometimes the NHS is overstretched, but you need to continue seeking help from your gp if this isn't going away, that's of course if you are UK based, a dermatologist will definitely sort this out for you, and don't pick at it,it will only spread any more infections, hopefully you'll get a bit further forward if you seek advice, best of luck.

I went to one and they said to try antibiotics that I already did. That it was infection. I asked it they could do a biopsy and they said no. They swapped it and no infection, but said just take the antibiotic and in two more months come back. I went there several times. They were not the friendliest. ( I've been clean for a year but I am looked at as a addict . But It was my own fault. But im a person too. So it's hard). At that time it was 7 months and saw 3 doctors and nothing is working.

There are different types of antibiotics, so it's a question of trying to find one that will cure the problem, yes, people can be to judgemental, sometimes finding a outreach program can give you moral support, as the emotional side of things in life can get you down, its important to have people who don't frown upon you, don't let things build up,this forum opens up different pages and each subject often can link into another health problems,my drinking problems ended up left me with nerve damage, but I don't often go onto the liver forum, but I still go through different pages as and when I feel I come across a subject or someone is needing help, its sometimes difficult as various countries can have different set ups and health procedures may vary, but charities are the same worldwide, its just a question of finding one that will help with your needs, the people on this forum are fairly knowledgeable, but can't just wave a magic wand and tell you what medication to get from over a counter from a picture,I know this isn't the answer what you are looking for, and I would imagine that you feel like you are running round in circles, you need to have someone who knows what they are talking about, and you need to be seen on a regular basis, and this has to be a doctor, and probably the same one every time, so they can see any improvement ,I'm sorry its not a perfect answer, but please persist, and don't forget you are a decent human being, and whatever has happened in your past days as an addict, it doesn't mean you're not entitled to help,I wish you better outcome, and don't give up! Thanks.

Thankyou and for my beautiful boys, its in me to keep going. I ment no disrespect if I offended anyone I've had wonderful experiences and doctors with over 30 surgeries. And I've experienced some as u would say not so good ones. I am just frustrated. I just wanted them to biopsy ( I was willing to pay cash) so we could stop treating something each time I went total of 12 times between family and dermatologist. And 6 plus months. With the doctors notes for each. Thats why I decided to do my own research also. But I have spent so many hors with nothing matching and was coming for suggestions one places to research. So im sorry if I sound like I was putting down doctors because in any profession there is good and bad. Put way extra thanks for the positive words to never give up. Even when I want to (which is alot). I know we all are going through so much. I appreciate everyones time.

I know how you feel, I've ended up with acne at the age of 56,and while its not life threatening,it has caused other skin problems else where on my body which has required surgery, and I'd never thought I'd end up with this at my age,but the skin condition has been past onto to my daughter, so its genetic problem, she is pretty upset with it,so I know it affects her as well, because once these abscesses form, they tend to reoccur and fill up with pus, which requires lancing and antibiotics and they tend to be very stubborn, so I understand how you'll be feeling, it's so important to find someone who will become loyal to your cause, and share your problems,it may help you mentally, if the skin problems can't get sorted out immediately, so don't worry to much, but try and find some support, or even stay on the forum as that has a mental and wellbeing page, but whether that gives you enough support I don't know, however people are understanding, and will reply to you regardless of what is going in your life, so if you are feeling a little low, give that page a try as well, once again I wish you well, and keep on trying I'm sure your little boys appreciate everything that you do for them, take care for now x

Your search for help with skin problems is familiar to me. I had similar open sores on my legs which eventually scabbed over after many weeks of keeping them absolutely dry, apart from lightly spraying with colloidal silver alternately with tea tree oil several times a day. I applied when the lesions were feeling dry or hurting ensuring at least three applications of each, each day. I reapplied if waking during night. A good multivitamin including vitamin A, 2gms of vitaminC , silica capsules, turmeric and omega 3 and Allicinmax was taken together with sugar free /wheat free diet /dairy free diet except when cheese was essential!.Several GP's were unable to offer advice other than one suggesting septic flea bites. A dermatologist said she didn't know and left the room saying she 'might have an idea' but chose not to share it with me.Various other weird symptoms developed over time providing a diagnosis of Morgellons Disease. This is still a bit of a mystery skin condition although it is accepted now that it is not a psychiatric illness but a physical one possibly resulting from Borrelia infection/Lymes disease. I very much hope that you have a much simpler cause and quick cure but thought I should draw your attention to the possibility. Most doctors will not wish to discuss this illness which many do not accept as anything other than delusional, requiring psychiatric drugs. I fortunately have located one who has prescribed a conventional drug together with homeopathic remedies and progress is being made.
