I'm from Canada, but I can relate to what you're saying about endlessly looking for answers to satisfy your mind.
After years spent trying to eliminate all uncertainties and solve all kinds of existential problems, I came to the realization that if I were not open to the possibility that my search may be futile, I would never be able to stop even if the voice of reason was asking me to.
Once I read a story about a Dutch woman who spent years and countless amount of money to find her daughter who disappeared on a safari trip in Uganda. She couldn't stop because she couldn't bear the uncertainty about her daughter's fate.
Now, before asking a question or trying to solve a problem, I ask myself, will I be willing and able to accept the possibility that my search for answers or solutions may be in vain? If I'm not willing to accept that, I don't start because I know I'll never able able to stop like the Dutch woman in the story. I wait to be in a better frame of mind. What I mean by 'a better frame of mind' is a frame of mind where I can conduct a search intelligently if I deem it justified. I know it's not easy, but it's worth it in the end.
