NOCD.com legit?

I've put my Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) therapist sessions on hold, we were recently going through the Freedom From OCD book but started get overwhelmed but it isn't her specialty. I've been entirely overwhelmed by triggers in my job recently, especially the phobias I don't have "tools" for.

I've signed up for nocd.com but haven't set up my consultation yet which I'll do on my time off next week. I'm wondering if others here have tried it, my insurance covers it so that is going to help with finances. Thanks

That's good to know, thanks!

As already mentioned, they are legitimate. The book you mentioned , Freedom from OCD, is one of the most recommended books on OCD by the top experts in the field. Its author, Jon Grayson, is a frequent guest on the NOCD podcasts with Patrick McGrath from NOCD. The podcasts are on YouTube if you’re interested. Patrick McGrath is also on the advisory board of the IOCDF. The NOCD puts out educational emails pretty much on a daily basis. They allow you to message your therapist in between sessions if needed and they can also match you up with a mentor as well. They offer different types of support groups and their app has some very useful features. They sometimes offer webinars.

Go on the app before you look at their instagram marketing, although I think they have improved it now. Get a therapist that - cares. I got one that was in it for the quick buck. See if they will work with your schedule - if they start pushing 2 sessions a week and you can't handle that - find another one. There are a lot of compassion people on there. And great success cases on ocd. Their text therapy is none triggering. Their text therapy is kind. Be aware that your posts in the main forum can be forwarded to whassap, twitter and I can't remember what other forums so keep it brief - I don't know if they have changed this. But keep it brief in the chat forum. Find a great therapist - no judgement with pocd - which you will find in very few places, even though it's getting more traction now.

A lot of new people to ocd. Last time I was there. A lot of young people, parents probably pay for the therapy. Caring compassionate therapists. I just got info and advice from the one that I had - I could get the same info and advice for half the price or for free in my country. It wasn't worth the money for me. And I decided to do my own research to avoid costs and to keep some privacy. Learned foolish mistakes but I learned hopefully. Knowing others deal with pocd - especially parents was very comforting. I follow people who do their own research. It's cheaper and I do get therapy. I've been in the therapy game longer so I know what a therapist - depending on experience - what I can and cannot say. How to say it in a way that will be understood. I followed from someone named Matthew. I respect to do your own research and if you have questions, ask someone who's already been there.

I can't afford $200 for an hour right now, so I'm getting text therapy from a nurse for $130 a month and finding free cbt programs in my area while going to the library and reading books on ocd and cbt that were recommended to me from a facebook group that Matthew organized. I think he's a moderator here.

nocd did fire the therapist I talked to, after I spoke with them, so they do care about their clients and the advice they get.
