Food with ocd

Does anyobe experience difficulty eating due to their ocd ? I have a major fear of being allergic to something i eat or a medicine and my throat close due to an allergy. It could even be something ive had before. For example... bananas i love them ate them alot but i have not had a banana because one time i ate one and my throat felt itchy and i related it to the banana and have not had one ive bought them with the intentions of just eating it but i havent brought myself to do it! I was even tested years ago on bananas and i was not. I fear of choking as well and will not eat certain stuff due to ocd!

I experience this as well. I have a fear of trying new foods and also - like you - a fear of eating things that I’ve eaten for years. This is one of the things I want to target though ERP with a therapist.

Sometimes I get an itchy throat from bananas too! Most often it happens when they're not ripe enough.
