I have a 23 yr. old son with a type of OCD. He really struggled last year but is doing pretty well now! Amy was recommended to me and my son worked with her for 6-8 months. I met her too, and she's great - has a lot of teenagers and young adults and does use ERP in her practice, and that was the treatment for my son.

He did end up switching after making a lot of progress with her, simply b/c he kind of hit a wall, which happens often in therapy. I think you have introductory session and it's important that the patient really "clicks" with the therapist. So they are comfortable telling them EVERYTHING, and the therapist is successful in motivating patient to do the homework needed to make progress. Amy is great though.

I sent a link to one of her profiles in an OCD network. So, you can also click on that to look for others here in CT. Amy is in Westport and not sure if she's doing tele-consults, but you can try her. She also has names of other good OCD/ERP therapists in CT (male and female) and I would trust her recommendations.

The second one, Lexi Bosse, is also fabulous. She does work with OCD patients and is great with teens/young adults. Has a specialty in Eating Disorders, but all anxiety related issues. We used her a few years ago for another child and she really connected and was terrific at making progress. Different issue, but I highly recommend her too. She's lovely and is currently doing video/face time sessions.

Hope that helps and at least gives you a solid recommendation of someone to call who can give you references for your specific needs if it's not a good fit. I'd start with Amy. If she's not taking patients, as I said, I trust her.

I'm so very well versed in anxiety issues in teens and really have done lots of investigating, so I am always happy to share what I've learned with others to help them save time starting from scratch. Lmk if I can help with anything else.

Best of luck to you and hang in there. I know it's tough, but it CAN get better. :-)
