ERP Accountability

Post here if you have an exposure that you want some help in being accountable for performing.

You can go into as much or as little detail as you want, but to help you be successful, state when you want to do your exposure so that we can follow up with you and ask how it is going.

I want to talk to start a conversation with my wife tonight about a topic that I have been avoiding for our entire relationship. This ranks as an 8 or 9 out of 10 on my anxiety scale. I am terrified to do this but I know that I can face this.

I talked to my wife some, but not nearly as in depth as I really should have. I did this exposure in name only and not nearly to the level of anxiety that it should have been. I'm going to have to sort this out with my therapist tomorrow.

I also need to do an exposure at work tomorrow that involves heading out of my office to elsewhere on campus and dealing with equipment that I don’t normally use. I have been putting this off for two or three weeks and just need to get it done. Expected anxiety level of 4 or 5.

Done! Telling myself I couldn't have a second cup of coffee until I did this was a good enough incentive.

I am going to talk to wife this weekend about things that make me uncomfortable. I want this! I am going to show OCD that it is not in charge.
