Hello, I have burning feets from ET for several months here and stomach upset from the aspirin , this despite my good blood values and ascal use. I take the ascal in the evening with meals and Pycnogenol now only half a dose (25mg) in the morning. And guess what. The persistent symptoms have disappeared like snow in the sun.
Are there others taking Pycnogenol? e.g. instead of aspirin, I am considering lowering the aspirin to an anti- tia value (e.g. 50mg) and increasing the Pycnogenol.
Greetings Paul

I do not have any experience with Pycnogenol. I believe that it can potentiate the blood thinning effect of aspirin, which may be why it is helping with the erythromelalgia. While Pycnogenol may have its own blood thinning effects, it may not be as effective as aspirin.
Given that you are experiencing a common side effect from aspirin, you are asking a reasonable question. It may be that lowering the dose of aspirin and supplementing with Pycnogenol would be viable; however, this is something that requires the advice of a medical expert. I consult with an Integrative medicine doctor for this reason as most docs are not familiar with the use of complementary health interventions. Functional Medicine doctors have this same expertise. Some hospitals have Integrative Oncology units attached. You can also do a simple Google search of Integrative medicine in the Netherlands, You can find Functional Medicine here. ifm.org/find-a-practitioner/
Is the burning feet issue Eryrhromelalgia do you know? I have PV and Erithro and find a paracetamol and half a 100 mg ibuprofen every 8-12 hours does the job.
on the advice of my naturopath I do take pycnogenol. I still take one baby aspirin a day because I am not having trouble with it. if you are thinking of lowering your dose of aspirin with the pycnogenol another thing to consider for blood thinning is ginger capsules. Of course you would want to discuss this with a specialist. What I find with the ginger capsules is that it has taken away my occasional migraines!
wishing you the best as you find the best solution for you.
I havnt seen data saying enteric is not as effective, interested to see it though. I’ve been on enteric 14 years and in all the conferences I’ve been to and all the haems I’ve consulted it’s never been mentioned, I think if it was a issue we might have heard about it more.
I have heard taking it at night or 1/2 morning and 1/2 night can be beneficial though.
