I am planning a four day holiday to Majorca from Scotland. I’ve been refused insurance because I’m on hydrocarbamide. Does anyone recommend Insurers who cover this, also I’ve just turned 80 years.
Thanks for any advice.

Maybe Max can help?
hello I was insured with Staysure . I am on Hydroxycarbamide and I am 63.
Maybe they might help if you haven’t tried them.
Take care
Have you tried Staysure. I've used them a few times with no trouble
hi Diane
I got travel insurance through my nationwide bank account. I had to inform them of my medical condition, and that I’m on hydroxy, I didn’t have to pay any extra premium. It was with UK insurance. They may be worth a try.
Good luck and enjoy your holiday
Pauline 😎
I have been insured with Staysure for many years - they seem to cover most conditions and medications so long as you declare everything up front and keep them updated on any changes
I always get my travel insurance through Compare the Market website and chose Insure For and am off to Majorca on Sunday! I was not asked what medication I was on but whether I'd had a blood clot on their screening section. I have never had a problem getting travel insurance. There are some options listed on the MPN Voice website too. Good luck.
Once you get past 70, it all becomes trickier. Trying to get quotes online was a nightmare, even with companies on the MPN Voice recommended list. I telephoned Staysure, but they would not give me a quote. Fortunately, AllClear were able to provide a quote, which I accepted. Pricey! A policy for one year turned out to be cheaper than a single trip, but it does mean that I don't have the hassle for my next trip. Good luck.
Hi Hannah Staysure said as long as I had no previous clot they were happy to insure me .
ET Jak 2 Hydroxycarbamide . L

I have ET and stage 4 Prostate cancer. I have recently been using an insurer called Insurance with. They ask a lot more detailed questions than Staysure and others, but end up with a cheaper quote for good levels of cover. I have used compare the Market and it is worth shopping around, but you will definitely get insurance.
hi Hannah, you will find a list of insurance companies on our guide to travel and travel insurance, these companies have provided insurance to people with MPNs mpnvoice.org.uk/wp-content/...
