Sanguina AnemoCheck Mobile Hb self test

A while ago Manouche posted the new AnemoCheck test for mobile. I installed it and tried. In this app I get consistently low Hb results of ~12.3 while my labs, see plot here, are 15-ish. Left hand is even lower, less than 12.

Has any other members tried this app, if so how are the results?

So far you may not be missing much since it doesn't seem to work for me. I sent the company a query, hope to hear some advice.

Good to have a pattern. Could be simply adding 3 to the result gives a better result. You'd think they would add a calibrate button to fit our CBCs, there is a place to input it.

One way to find out is to get a CBC out of range to compare. But I'm good to not find out that way.

My husband tried it too and got the same answer of ~12.5. He has no blood disease so it seems consistent there too.

I'm considering their finger prick version, I'm more used to needles lately with Bes self shots.

Yeah I was a bit skeptical and after getting regular readings in the high 12s I figured it wasn’t legit. Took it right before I walked in for a CBC and then it was confirmed it wasn’t accurate. Perhaps you are right in adding 2.5-3 to the number would be more accurate, but that then just makes the app worthless, ha.

Not what you're looking for?
