These are from Monday, my wife had a splenectomy five weeks ago after it ruptured due to a minor fall and nearly died after bleeding 3 litres internally while here on holiday in France. Do you think the results will get to be more normal given time? She is on a daily injection of lovenox as she had a stroke after the operation. She has a 23mm clot in an artery to her brain. She is doing really well, and is getting stronger every day.

Blood test results (in French) what do they mean?
Hi jointpain , very sorry to read about your wife's ordeal. I can't say if her bloods will normalise but the white cell count should hopefully reduce as she gets better. I see her platelets are high , is that due to an MPN as this would of course account for increased chance of a blood clot.
I hope your wife makes a speedy recovery as it must be difficult especially being in another country.
Chris
It is difficult staying here longer than planned. The hematologist recommended we stay until we get the results of the pathology report on the spleen and other tests. He does suspect Myelofibrosis or CML. We see the surgeon tomorrow and may find out more. GP back in Wales are not bothered. But my wife did go an complain of a sudden rise in blood pressure from perfect to really high. The GP who saw her gave her three minutes and got rid of her, that was in January. If only the GP had done a fbc at the very least.
Hello, sorry to hear about your wife, I hope she is feeling much better. I wonder if you have posted this in the wrong forum, this forum is for people with MPNs, does your wife have a MPN and if so, which one? Your wife needs to ask her GP to interpret these results. Kind regards, Maz
must be scarey, but so glad to hear yr wife is improving
these blood results are a lot more helpful than many i have seen, as they give u the normal range for immediate comparison
best wishes
To Mazcd Pardon me and my wife, we are so sorry to have been directed to this site without an actual definitive diagnosis, only a strong suspicion by a hematologist consultant while we wait for the results of his tests.
I am dreadfully sorry for writing a post here. I will not write again unless I have a diagnosis by the useless bunch of GPs that could have picked up on my wife's illness if they had not just given her 3 minutes of their valuable time when she went to them with a very increased bp reading which had gone up dramatically in only six months.
