2nd Booster

I notice that many of you seem to be getting notification re your 2nd booster so are obviously on some list. I had my booster on 5 January so should be due my 2nd one in April. For my first booster, I did not receive any notification. I contacted my surgery and was told it was nothing to do with them. I contacted the relevant number who told me to contact my surgery. I just went round and round in a loop. I then printed the letter from this site and went to the local vaccination centre where it was thoroughly read through before I was given my vaccination.

Should I be on a list somewhere within the NHS? If so how do I go about enlisting?

If I am not eligible (I have PV) to be on a list is there a letter available for the 2nd booster similar to the previous one? I know some kind person on here will point me in the right direction. Thank you in anticipation.

Hello Fionnuaghla - I also bypassed both GP and consultant after my fiasco of trying to get a 3rd primary dose and took latest letters showing my conditions + medication to a walk in for my booster (will do the same for my next one due April) - if you google bloodcancer uk news and scroll down to the 16th March post it’s a letter titled ‘why people with blood cancer are invited for a 5th vaccine dose’ - I printed it to take to a walk in with my proof of having had 4 so far. Hope it works for you. very best Anne-Marie x (p.s. welcome back to the forum - so sorry for the hardship you have gone through)

Thank you so very much Ann Marie. I have followed your instruction and managed to book my appointment for Saturday through that site. I shall also print any relevant info and go along armed with as much evidence as possible. You have been most helpful. Thank you again for the info and welcome.

Hi,

I went on the NHS site and as it already had my details I was able to book an appointment for my 2nd booster without having to wait for any notification.

It even gave me a list of places I could get my second booster.

Regards

Mark

Hi Mark,

I live in England but couldn't say whether the same booking system operates in other parts of the UK

Thanks for update. In Wales you get a ink to tell you about booking. When you click it it takes you to more information and another link, which tells you to click the link to the health board. When at the health board it tells you the same as you've e already seen and to click on booking system, which takes you back to the beginning again. By the time you've realised you're going round in circles you're either better or the pandemic is over 🤣. Given up.
