Hi Everyone, I normally get a letter asking me to come and get my Covid Booster from the Heamotology department. I have ET Jak2+. I havent received a letter for the winter booster. I contacted my Heamotologists secretary and she told me that they have had no word as yet to send out the letters to patients. Does anyone know if people with ET are eligible this time round or not to get the Covid jab? Only concerned as I am back in the office and Covid numbers are going up. Thanks! B

Covid Booster in Northern Ireland
Hey Brona...
Not sure what's happening over there... However, here "Down Under" it's becoming daily more about the "Economy", as the world teeters on the precipice of "Recession".
Hence, everything "COVID" related is now taking a "back-seat". Australia has had more deaths in this current year than throughout the entire pandemic, & yet, isolation periods will be totally abolished here from October 14, 2022.
All of the previous measures to supplement those infected w/ compensation during isolation, is now no more...
It will be most interesting to see what develops next, as everyone also admits the pandemic per se, is not yet over...
Hope it all works out for you Brona...
Stay happy, safe & well...
Steve
Hi Steve, lovely to hear from you! I hope you are well and a is good and tgat u r getting out on your bike. Covid has taken a back seat. I am very sad to hear your update from Australia. I do think that now (coming into winter months) is not the time to remove all Covid measures at all. We had a report out yesterday that Covid was on the rise again so it has not gone away. As to the answer to my question - I think I have fallen off a list. As I always going my covid jabs at a jab centre but as they r not doing them anymore for my group it falls back to the gp. Will ring them Monday. B X
Assuming its same as England you can just book online anyway, i didnt get an email but went on the NHS website and booked, also did my flu jab at the same time
See if this link works for you....
Hi Brona
I am in NI too and previously had my boosters with PV without difficulty I booked them through our local pharmacy. They were authorised by my Gp
I now have MF so have had the booster already
Good luck hope you get sorted Margo
I was sent a flu and Covid vaccine booster appointment letter for next Tuesday, from my local Health Centre, I am 66 and in Northern Ireland, vulnerably disabled, my sister who is 64 semi-retired was sent one as well! They are in the pipeline ring up your local Health Centre, they are working although cannot be said for certain politicians🙄
Haha! Yes, another person from near me! I will contact my doctors and good to know there is activity. I suspect ive been missed somewhere along the line. With being back in work that booster would be handy.
Hey Brona...
Sounds like you may have received some good local knowledge concerning your options etc.
Yes, here we are just starting our Spring season, although w/ the amount of precipitation one might be forgiven. Seems we are now having our 3rd Laninia weather pattern in as many years. Meaning, even more flooding... Hopefully, many that have already been affected so many times, might be spared this time around...
Best wishes Brona...
Steve
hi EmeraldA I also live in Northern Ireland and have had difficulty getting a Covid booster from my GP, although I have got my flu vaccine. When I asked about the covid booster I was told I would be sent for in the next month or two. I have checked online where to get covid booster in NI and there are walk in clinics available today in some Hospitals. You can also book an appointment in the community pharmacy. I am going to go to my local hospital this morning as a walk in, it says all over 50’s are eligible so hopefully I will be successful. This will be my second booster last one was back in Nov 2021 I wasn’t called for a third primary or spring/ summer booster. 🤷🏻♀️ I have ET jak2 I will let you know how I get on.

HI, thanks for the responses. I really appreciate it alot. My consultant secretary got back to say that she is still looking into it and will be in touch soon. It's just I'm not sure if there are going to be different versions of the booster available this time round so just waiting to see. B:
