It’s brilliant to hear that people are being called for booster Covid shots.
Can I ask if people are being called by doctors surgeries or directly from the NHS?
I’m asking as my surgery has been very slow at responding to the fact that I’m vulnerable and my first jab was booked when I received a letter from the NHS.

In medical terms, a booster dose is an extra administration of a vaccine after an earlier (primer) dose. After initial immunization, a booster injection or booster dose is a re-exposure to the immunizing antigen. It is intended to increase immunity against that antigen back to protective levels, after memory against that antigen has declined through time.
I have essential thrombocythemia. I am 62 years old. I take 1000 mg of hydroxyurea daily and three baby aspirin. I got the Pfizer vaccine two shots in February of this year. It’s been over six months since I’ve had the vaccine. I went tobe tested for antibodie at LabCorp. I got the results and I was amazed that I have antibodies for COVID-19 still after six months. Just wanted to share this with you it was encouraging to me and I’d like to encourage others.
A third injection is to be given to people who were severely immunllosuppressed at their first or second jab. It is part of their primary vaccination schedule. It will only be for a relatively small number of people. A decision about a booster jab for the general population is still pending.
Hi everyone, I have advice from the medical team to say, this will all be from mid Sep, and it will be GP driven, and we will update ASAP when we have more information for people with MPNs.
