Pfizer vaccine

I have read a few concerns on here about not having this vaccine if you have an allergy to penicillin of which I am

I had this vaccine on Monday with no problem except a sore arm

I was asked if I had any allergies and she said it was fine to have this vaccine as it doesn’t contain any antibiotic

I asked if she needed to know any drugs I was on

She only needed to know if I was on blood thinners and I said aspirin which is fine

I feel fine with no problems.

I’m allergic to penicillin and a number of other antibiotics. I’m also taking a blood thinner. Like you I was assured that it was safe to have the Pfizer vaccine and gratefully had it nearly three weeks ago with no adverse effects. I don’t yet have a date for the second jab.

Hi

Glad all was well

I don’t have a date for my second one either

My brother is in Derbyshire and was able to book two vaccine appointments

I think it varies on where we live on how they plan it all

Thanks again Pippa, , now my Dad who is allergic to Penicillin has even less chance of ducking a jab. Though 85 I fear a reluctance to go for it. He is however recently recovered from the virus which gives some protection but though now eligible for a jab is yet to book it. Chris

Hi there, so glad you dad has recovered from the virus. Hope you can come to some agreement about his vaccination. My husband is a covid and anti vax denier and refusing to have one, not a happy household at the moment, will see.Take care all.

Thanks Jenny my Dad has been lucky in a way because although unwell for a 2 or 3 weeks he could of been alot worse as we all know from the horrible scenes we see almost daily, He still looks a tad grey around the gills but his appetite is back now. Im sure my Dad will go for his jab within the next month or so.

However the situation with your husband must be hard to deal with and harder to reconcile I expect, I mean it's sometimes not a happy household when couples disagree on what to have for tea especially cooped up as we are. I hope you sort things out.

Meanwhile take care yourself

Chris

Good news about your dad. My daughter lives in Maidstone and they are at the point that they hear of a death a day, awful!! Take care you too and hope dad improves more.

Thank you that was my understanding. It seems that maybe some medical workers are airing on the side of caution

Hi, I am totally the same as you and all went ahead. All ok. I have heard that with all the vaccines, the second one leaves you with more after effects for just a few days, will see, I still think this is the only way out of this mess but my husband is a covid and vaccine denier which is causing quite a bone of contention as you may well imagine. Oh well there you go. xx
