Pfizer vaccine side effects

Hello everyone. I have ET CALR.

I had the first vaccine in June in Austria. I felt nothing except a half day long soreness on the injection site. My antibodies test showed 37 days later, almost no protection. But…

The second vaccine, 38 days after the first. No initial reaction. Two days later, paralyzing fatigue, low grade fever and body aches for 5 days. Then slow recovery. It’s two weeks since tomorrow any I‘m slowly starting to feel more like myself.

I’ve never had a vaccine reaction before. Has anyone had the same?

Hey Anag... :-)

That is all extremely of interest to me, as you know, my 'M-Driver' is also CALR, w/ Post ET / MF & VWS causing further clots, which sees me continue to suffer from TIAs & Stroke (of the brain) etc...

Because I have continued to suffer from these, AZ will not be risked by me any time soon.

However, I have also read a few reports referring to the side-effects your are suffering from too...

For your sake Anag, I do hope that they all dissolve soon & life takes on a more MPN normalcy for you... :-)

Stay safe & well...

Best wishes

Steve

I’m sorry you continue to have the TIAs! I had my last one 2 yrs ago. Knock on wood!today is the first day since the Pfizer (exactly 2 wks ago) that I feel “normal”. Most of my strength has returned. The one thing is still that my balance is a bit off.

It’s a tough decision to get this vaccine for us. Some of us jump into it, others will never get it out of fear. Everyone has to make their own well thought out decision. I do believe this will blow over soon. The new infection rate in Austria is rising fast, but the serious effects are not to be seen. Is the Δ mutation less dangerous? No I É is interested in telling us…..🤨

It’s Aug 19 and I’m replying again. I’m actually still not recovered since the 2nd Pfizer. There is also something new, that I findet notice initially. I have rusty brown areas around my ankles and now up to the middle of my calves. My vein problems have definitely increased and I have a small open area on my right leg. Since the angiologist can’t see the reason why, he’s tipping on my ET and Pfizer. He’s seen many vein problems in women especially, who have been vaccinated (not just Pfizer). Since the legs got worse, so did my energy. I’m also having numbing of the hands. I was very apprehensive about getting any Covid vaccine; I will definitely not get the 3rd one which will be do in mid March. No way.

My daughter will not be getting any Covid vaccine yet. She is fighting chronic Lyme (she has 4 strains of Lyme!) She’s almost 18 and wants to go out with friends and the government is pushing to vaccinate all and whoever isn’t vaccinated, will not be able to go into restaurants, etc! I can’t believe they’re discussion this possibility in Austria. They are putting all under pressure. So sad it is!

Hope You are well.

I was very fatigued the day after my second dose, and it took me a week or so to regain normal energy levels. I have ET Jak+ but i know other peers my age (mid-late 30s) who are 'healthy' and had similar- so not necessarily related to MPN. Glad you are feeling better

Hi I was like that after my first injection I had the Oxford, AstraZeneca vaccine, I was fine for the first 4 days then it hit me and I was ill for about a week with terrible fatigue.

After my second vaccination within 4 hours I can up in a rash all down my arm bright red & swollen. It lasted 24 hours then disappeared. I hope you are feeling better now.

Hi Fizzydog.

I’m so sorry you had to go through that. My homeopath doctor’s wife (does alternative testing) had the same as you after the second AZ, but worse. She’s about 55 and Asian (if that plays a role?). The redness (severe eczema) was all over her back, chest, midriff and legs. She was bleeding also. It took 2 months to get the side effects under control. She still has terrible scarring on her legs.

I’m glad you got through it with a comparatively lighter condition. 🙂 let’s hope the vaccines keep us from getting sick!

I wish I had a reaction to the vaccines. I had none, and had no antibodies. Hopefully you have reacted to your second dose.

I really hope so!

Regarding the ABs. I’ve read there are tests from different companies testing different things, therefore, it may mean you are protected. Stay safe anyway. I still take precautions, especially around young people. They are the ones fully infected in Austria right now. Hardly anyone over 40 has Covid.

Hi I have ET JAK2, it took me about 2 weeks to feel better after after the first vaccine and around 3 weeks after the second.

Hope you feel better soon

Wow. That sounds heavy.

The heavy fatigue is now gone, but my fitness is aweful. I had a tough year, especially with my 3 impacted discs in my neck. Massive pain for 5 weeks and a long therapy. My body has degenerated. I actually started at a gym with aerobics yesterday. I did 20“ and today 40“, but very low impact. I was so proud of my careful pacing. All beginnings are difficult.

Cheers! Anag
