Hi I have ET diagnosed 20 years ago . Over the years
I have had several really bad allergic episodes with an over hives rash, swollen hands and feet . I was told by a specialist this is due to a fault in my mast cells due to my condition Tonight I went for my booster vaccination ,sat in the chair decided I couldn’t go through with it without speaking to a few like minded people . Anyone else who suffers with the itches and rashes who can tell me their experience with the Pfizer jab , my first 2 Were AZ. I’m going to ring my blood nurse tomorrow .

Hi , I have a few allergies so know what you are saying . I had the AZ first vaccines , having reaction to first dose fine for 2nd one . Have had my 3rd dose, Pfizer/flu with no reaction at all . Not even sore arm .. All good .
I was unwell after my Pfizer (3rd jab) I had AZ for jabs 1 and 2. If it comes down to choice the 3rd jab wins hands down. Obviously listen to your nurse.
I too have suffered lots of allergies since my diagnosis in 2004 when previously I was allergic to nothing. I was fine with Pfizer and AZ but someHand sanitizers burn my skin and I have welts etc. I have seen a skin specialist to help with remedying the reactions but prevention is harder.
Thanks for taking the time to reply , I know I need to take the booster ,really not like me to throw a wobbly over something like this but I really feel quite anxious
I had 2 AZ jabs then more recently a Pfizer 3rd dose. I suffered with a horrendous itch attack afterwards for the next 2 days for 5-6 hours at a time. I also had a flu jab in the other arm at the same time. Just my experience…….it may have been related it might not. I hope you’re ok. I’m glad I got all the jabs despite the reactions. Good luck.
They say it's ok to get flu and covid shots at the same time. I've opted to get the flu jab later, after my 3rd Pfizer, to know which one, if any, made trouble. My 3rd Pf was ok, but I have no allergies. Flu jab is next week.
Hi I suffer with allergies, hives and bad asthma. So I've found it hard plucking up the courage to get vaccinated. I had two Astra ones and was ok with them. I had a Moderna Booster on Friday, was SO nervous!! I did have racing heart straight after having the injection. Don't think it was my nerves, so I waited 20 minutes instead of the 15 and it did go off. I have had very sore arm for two days but now is easing. I had a slight fever last night but ok now. I have had slight flare up of asthma but nothing too bad and I am feeling ok today. I am relieved that I've had it done. I can really empathise with how you feel.
Hi. Just before being diagnosed with PV I started suffering from hives and really painful welts whenever I touched something with my arm such as resting on a table, or if a plant touched me, anything really. I have been taking antihistimes everyday ever since and they seem to work mostly. I have had 3 pfizer jabs. The first I got no real side effects apart from a slight headache and a bit tired. After the 2nd I felt really sick and had a racing heart. My arm was really red and itchy for several days. This did really concern me - enough to feel really anxious about my 3rd vaccine. However, my GP suggested taking an anti-histimine an hour before the jab and told me that although I may have suffered a mild allergic reaction it was not a serious risk and I should go ahead. I was still really nervous so understand how you feel. I did let the vaccinator know why I felt anxious and she backed up what my GP had said and she also told me that they had Epi pens and knew how to use them if there was a problem. I then waited 30 mins after my vaccine just to make extra sure, but this time I had no problems at all. I am so glad I had it done. After my second vaccine I had no antibodies but after my third I did. I know they may not last long, but it is reassuring to know that my 3rd vaccine worked. I do hope you summon up the courage to go back, chat with your nurse - maybe you could go to a vaccination centre where they have a doctor on duty. Good luck.
Yes, it really worked well. I usually take my antihistimine first thing in the morning, but for my 3rd vaccine I held off until an hour before my appointment and it really worked. GP said I could take an extra one if I needed to for a few days but I didn't need to. My arm did remind me every 24 hours for about 4 or 5 days with a little irritation but as soon as I took my antihistimine it stopped. No redness or severe itching like I had on my 2nd, so hopefully it will work for you too.
