Just got a notice regarding an on-line training titled "An Anti-inflammatory Lifestyle" from the Institute for Brain Potential (cost $79.00 US). I have attended a similar training from this organization and it was quite good. Given how many of us have to deal with inflammation, thought it might be of interest. Would be a productive way to spend time while distancing/isolating.
There are a number of good trainings available here. Geared to professionals who need CEUs, but many are highly relevant and helpful. Have had good experience with a number of trainings here.

Interesting to ponder what inflammatory cytokines we can target/reduce via diet and whether this in away reduces our risk of ‘cytokine storm’.
My very limited understanding is that the inflammatory mediators of interest re Covid include the proinflammatory cytokines IL-2, IL-1B, IL-6, TNF-alpha, IFN-y, acute phase protein CRP (C-reactive protein), eicosanoids PGE2 (prostaglandin E2), and LTB4 (leukotriene B4),
IL-6 can be reduced by exercise but any particular foods that target these mediators?
The impact of diet on inflammatory cytokines is I expect rather diffuse and difficult to measure. I hade contact with Dr. Angela Fleishman as part of the Familial MPNs study. her group is looking specifically at CRP and TNF alpha as relevant to MPNs and potential markers for monitoring interventions. This is in research and not clinical practice at this point.
I am working with an Integrative Medicine specialist and using some supplements to see if I can moderate the systemic inflammation I experience. She already ran a CRP (which was WNL) and TF Growth Factor Bet(Which was elevated). We are looking into doing a cytokine panel that includes TNF-alpha and several interleukins. While I am willing to try some complimentary health approaches, I would like to see some objective markers of effectiveness. While I would be delighted if any of this reduced hematopoiesis, I am not really expecting it; however, I have had success with other inflammation related symptoms like osteoarthritis. Hopefully I will find greater success with some additional interventions.
Regarding the risk of a cytokine storm with COVID 19, that does appear to be a significant risk. It is devastating peoples lungs. We do not know yet whether those of with dysregulated kinase systems/elevated cytokines will be at any greater risk. Theoretically, we could be, but nobody knows at this point.
My KISS approach to all this id that too many cytokines are BAD. Normalized cytokine levels are GOOD. Interventions that reduce our cytokine levels with minimal risk are VERY GOOD; however, anything that is biologically active enough to help us can also hurt us.
This sounds excellent. I’ve been watching, listening to and studying almost all of the points on the list of the inflammatory lifestyle and have also heard Dr. Fisher in interviews.
