Anti inflammatory diet

I’ve mentioned this before but has anyone seen an update?

curetoday.com/articles/inve...

I’m intrigued to find out to what extent a low inflammation diet can impact MPNs, both in terms of possibly slowing progression (reducing risk of additional mutations) and alleviating symptom burden. Diet could be especially significant for MPN patients in view of the chronic nature of our disease.

Thanks Paul... :-)

Hope all is well in your world...

It is a slightly dated article(c. 2017), but essentially the idea is based up the theory that I myself am also trying to follow.

Our metabolism and inflammation are connected of course, and food stuffs are just chemicals waiting to be broken down, and all of us here know how much a small amount of a chemical can change how we might feel...

Interesting article Paul...

Thanks for sharing as always

That's interesting, thanks for posting. I was diagnosed with PV back in October. I've been taking a CoQ10 supplement and a Turmeric supplement, both are supposed to be anti-inflammatory. I've been doing quite well, only needing venesection about every 2 months and no drugs except low dose aspirin. Of course I can't say if it has anything to do with the supplements. I did find a 2013 scientific paper (but it was not a clinical study) that concluded that pure curcumin (found in turmeric) may offer a therapeutic advantage in the clinical treatment for MPNs. Here's the link: academic.oup.com/carcin/art.... Anyway, I'll keep taking it since it can't hurt and may even help. Wishing you all the best!

I had to stop taking cucumin di to very large bruising. I wonder if it’s because I have ET and not PV or MF

CoQ10 did a lot for me! Turmeric is great, but Im careful to take it 4 hours after my Anagrelid. Anagrelid has a 1.3 hours half life and I wait until it’s almlst completely gone so that the antioxidative properties of Curcumin don’t wash it out!

I have been trying intermittent fasting. I've done four 24 hour water fasts in the past month and I can tell you my joint pain has improved significantly. I'm assuming that has something to do with a reduction in inflammation. My goal is to try a few 48 hour fasts in the next month and see what happens. There is a lot of information out there about how fasting can help heal your body through autophagy.

Such a great point! I did a 2.5 day fast and it was amazing! Unfortunately I didn’t have the will power to try it again. Apparently, it works like a storm in the forest that gets rid of all bad branches. Our body gets rid of all weak and dead body cells faster. It’s good house cleaning and our ancient ancestors were subject to it as a normal part of life.

Hi Paul, I looked into the article and would also like to know if there’s an update. Regarding low inflammation diet, I went on a tailored Auto immune Paleo diet (organic) a year and a half ago and take supplements. I fixed my leaky gut and switched from chemical T4 to biiidentical thyroid hormone, banned all chemical cleaning agents/ cosmetics, drink pure water, have quite good air, do detox baths with salts to help reduce inflammation. My blood tests are now like 30 years ago! My distension, histamine problem, eczema, cholesterine, lymphnodes, fatty liver, spleen, joint pain and stiffness, brain fog all fixed themselves almost completely. I went from 3g of Anagrelid a day to 1.5g /day. Then, A wrong turn: My parasite cleansing last Dec. Was done with a Med that was banned some years ago. it caused neurological damage in 1/100 patients!! I was that 1 patient. The thrombocytes shot up fro 350 to 756 and I suffered another TIA. I was put on 2g of Anagrelid. Blood test Monday. Personally, inflammation, sleeplessness and stress definitely affect my ET! Low impact exercise helps a lot. Also 5 minutes of light bouncing on a trampoline daily to get the lymphatic system working is super. I have much more energy.

Hi Paul, Thanks for posting. I have not heard of an update on this research. Mesa mentioned it last year, but not in detail. Since Angela Fleishchman is one of the researchers, I wonder if she could be accessed via the Patient Power site?
