CBD Oil: I am looking into cbd oil and if it helps... - MPN Voice
CBD Oil
Hi
I was regularly taking CBD prior to my diagnosis (ET jak 2 pos) I asked my consultant at Guys (London) about continued use and he advised me against taking it. Haven’t taken since. I asked the reason and he said that the effects of CBD supplements with MPN & subsequent treatment are unknown so not to use. Interested to see if there have been any other consultant opinions on this .
All the best.
Hi, I'm ET too, use cbd oil for 2 month, I did cbc before&after so not effective for me already left.
When I took it in combination with interferon it lowered my platelet count dramatically.
If you ask 10 doctors, you will get 10 different opinions. Same as with alternative doctors and with anyone.
My opinion:
As with all natural supplements, most doctors don’t really know about them and they are not usually informed of studies in the “natural” medical world. After 2 years of my own intensive studies regarding chronic illnesses, diets, supplements and consulting numerous doctors who also do functional medicine, I have come to a most basic and important conclusion:
I make sure there is no concrete evidence against taking a certain supplement that O wish to take. I, for example, should not be taking ginseng or Ashwaganda, since I have Hashimoto. I don’t at this moment remember the exact biochemical reason, but I know its not good, so I stay away from them.
When I do decode to take a supplement, (I take many vitamins, minerals and other health supporting supplements), I make sure it is at a time, where it is not coinciding with my medication. It should not in any way “detox” my med, rendering them useless. My Anagrelid has a 1.3 hour half-life, therefore I don’t take any anti-oxidative supplements 3 hours before or after taking it.
I good source of CBD works wonders for many, also my daughter, and I have used it occasionally. Inform yourself well and make your decision. Monitor your body carefully. Also, never start two supplements at once. Test one for some days and then add another. Then any reactions can be pinpointed.
Hope to have helped. Anag
I've been taking CBD oil for a few months, it has lowered the severe pain I get from my arthritis but not made any difference either way to my ET. Hope that helps you.
