I just have taken the courage to join Health Unlocked. I was diagnosed with ET at the age of 81 and am still here at 86 thanks to Hydroxycarbamide! As for the BMB I hope I never have to undergo that again. It was agony both during the procedure and for several days afterwards! I have been interested in reading about all your experiences. Thanks for sharing them.

Welcome Cindy you have joined the best of communities to get and give support! Glad HU is helping you and well done for dealing with it all a little later in life, encouraging for others I think. You will learn much from this lovely website. And I agree with you BMB I’ve had two and likewise found painful!!

Welcome Cindy, you sound really upbeat about your ET like most of us we are grateful for the drugs that we have been given and at 86 you are certainly doing well on it, as for a BMB I did not have one but have heard that they are not nice. I was diagnosed back in June 2013 with ET JAK 2 pos

Turn 70 myself this year, and through keeping fit eating well and drinking loads of water a day normally over 2ltrs I also am doing well.

So welcome and keep that spirit going.

Hey Cindy... :-)

Welcome to our exclusive little club...

Thank you for be so brave and sharing with us. You really are quite an inspiration to me personally.

Unlike your good self, my BMBs, (thus far), have been trouble & pain free... long may they remain so... ;-)

I used the inhaler, and never felt a thing really...

As others have already said, this is the best place to talk to others with MPNs, and all of us benefit in so many ways...

Thanks again Cindy...

Steve

Hi Cindy, I’m so glad you’ve posted on here so we can properly welcome you. It’s an amazingly wonderful group of folks all over the world. If you ever have questions make that clear in your subject & among us we might have the answer. And if you ever need to complain or ask for support, you’ll find lots of compassion here. By the way, I also hated my BMB & was sore a few days. But I’m in the U.S. & wasn’t offered any gas, etc. Be well! Katie

Hi Cindy -- let me add another welcome to the forum. It's wonderful to hear from you and how you're doing -- thanks for being brave and posting. I remember posting for the first time and how nervous I was. But I felt so welcomed and that's just continued and deepened. Hope to see you here regularly.

Best

Kim
