Thanks for all those who said about making a claim on their insurance. I made a claim a couple of months ago and have just been paid out with no trouble at all. Thanks to all those who mentioned it on here as I would have never thought of it otherwise. xx

Can you please give info on what you mean by claiming on insurance for critical cove? what sort of insurance how does it work I really don't understand how what and where. dumb or what thanks .
So a life insurance policy pays out if you die but critical illness pays out an amount if you get a serious illness.
How much depends on the level of cover you opted for when you took the policy out. I think a lot of people have this cover without realising so always worth checking what policies you are paying for.
Thats what happened to us, we had been paying an insurance for about 20 years and it was only when i said to my wife what is this we are paying we got the paper work out and then realised i could claim.
Worth checking through the drawers to see what you have. Could be lumped in with life insurance.
hi I'm new to all this & pleased to here your success with your claim
I have cover with legal & general ..I've just been reading the small print and it says they pay out if you have less than 2 months to live ...but from other threads on here I'm not seeing any thing about 12 month to live looks like some companies pay out & some do not ...some that have paid out are L &G so I'm a bit confused ?? any input from yourself and others reading this thread would be great ...as most threads on the subject are quite old maybe things have changed now it's 2018 ?
I claimed on my critical illness insurance policy for PV. The key information is: what does your policy cover you for? Mine covered me if I was diagnosed with any cancer.
defiantly critical with L & G I need to get my head around the small print ! do you know if it makes a difference if the condition is primary ie with jak2 positive or if it's the secondary type ?
