Thank you Scottishterrier, useful to know. Up until, as I’m not on any meds (and providing I still do have an MPN, I’ve not qualified for the freebie and just paid for the pleasure at Boots.

Kindest regards Aime xx😸😸

HI Aime if you are on Hydroxycarbamdie or any cancer drug and have an Mpn you are due a Flu Jag as any MPN is a form of cancer which is endorsed by world Health organisation please print of all Mpn pages especially your MPN and take along to your MSP and inform your consultant if you have one MPN Clinical Nurse Specialist to get in touch with you Gp Stating you need a flu jab because of your condition

Good luck and Best wishes

Really shouldn't have paid. You shouldn't pay for any meds once you're diagnosed with an MPN. x

We had ours over a month ago and had a letter from the Doc's beforehand. Arm was sore for about four days!

Similar situation here. I childmind grandchildren who will be receiving the live vaccine next week, so I was told I should try to have mine as a priority patient in order to be protected. Rang my surgery who said the 65+ vaccine was in very short supply and I would need a letter from the hospital confirming that I can have it (I have had the flu jab every year for many years). I arranged a copy of the letter to be sent from the hospital to my surgery, but ten days later, the letter still had not been received by the GP even though the haemo had apparently dictated it on the day I originally rang. Surgery refused to vaccinate me so I phoned round and eventually found a Boots branch that had some 65+ vaccine in and so I went there instead!

I would make a complaint Garstongal.

You are in the high risk group and the NHS Guidelines say you should receive the free flu vaccination as a priority.

It is negligent that your GP practise does not have your very serious medical condition on their records.

Have they been prescribing you medication without knowing your relevant medical history?

i totally agree with you Borage also another idea is to print off your MPN and make an appointment to see your local MSP who will hopefully question the health secretary but correspondence is totally like Shona Robison as she does not know how many MPN clinical Nurse Specialists till December how hard would it be to get in touch with all hospitals in Scotland with Haematology consultants and ask them

Best wishes
