Just a small query, dose anyone have a copy of the Blood cancer UK letter that was sent to us regarding immune compromised people with blood cancer to be able to get fourth jab.
I am sure that I did not imagine it, but cannot find the said e.mail to print off, just wondered if anyone had a copy to put on our forum, have been unable to get through to Blood Cancer UK have had to leave a message. I spoke with my GP this morning and they gave me the number of the GP Alliance in my area to get the fourth jab, but they will not do unless I have a letter from blood cancer UK or my GP but they referred me and said its nothing to do with them and to speak with the Alliance, they will only do if I can provide a letter, so just wondering if anyone has kept a copy of the letter.
On another note also asked my GP regarding the Shingrix shingles jabs they do not do, as they have no call for it, they only do the live one which we cannot have, so don't know what to do about that either, just hope to god I don’t get shingles.
Anyway if anyone can help I would be grateful, got an appoint booked for the 13th of March, but without letter I will not be able to get.
Ta very much Peeps.

Hi Jean I think your GP practice is giving you the run a round about the shingles vaccine, but to give them the benefit of the doubt it could be they are just not up to date and don't realise that the Shringix one was authorised for use in the UK at the beginning of September 2021.
Hello superwoman - I never had anything in writing + was only a few stroppy emails to my local CCG that resulted in a text to invite me for my 3rd - if you have anything that ‘invited’ you for your 3rd you should be able to do as I did + go to a walk in centre (I googled the centres to find which vaccine they were using on which days) - I had my cards showing vaccine dates + that I was the 90days from the 3rd - also took all the latest paperwork from hospital review as they showed diagnosis and current treatment - after explaining I had the 4th no problem - hope that works for you (about the Shingrex - think your GP should have a duty to provide the appropriate vaccine or point you in a direction of somewhere that does offer it- maybe a ‘pithy’ email to the head of practice)? - soz think you may be able to tell I have ‘no truck’ any longer with barriers being thrown at me about accessing health care! Very best Anne-Marie x
Had a lovely conversation with Blood cancer UK really helpful, told me all I need is my last letter from my Haematologist saying what blood condition I have results would be good and must state treatment which is Hydroxycarbamide, and three months since last jab for covid which I have. She also said that Shingrix is the only vaccine for people with any blood cancer and that my GP should be able to order in, so just waiting on a reply from Docs about that but not holding out much hope, so will have to see where I can get. They also sent me loads of information over as well, as she said things are changing all the time.
All I did was show a letter from my heamo. I Was looking for The one I was given when first diagnosed ( I had a copy on my phone) but they accepted one that mentioned I had an MPN. Meanwhile I’ll see if I can find it fir you.
My Haematologist is sending me a letter, also blood cancer UK have also sent me relevant details via e.mail.The strange thing was, called today to cancel my covid jab appointment, to be told nothing was in the system, they have told me to call back four weeks after having Shingrix jab, they have now put into the system, so all details are there, good job I called, they were very apologetic.
Bril , I found a copy of covid treatment that I’m happy to send you if you email your address via private message but not the other. Haven’t a clue how to put it on here lol x
When my husband went for his 4th jab took his letter but wasn't even looked at. Was asked what his condition was. Regarding the shingles injection. My husband was prescribed Aciclovir by his consultant at the hospital. He as 400mg twice a day. He has these from the hospital. Good luck with both. X
My husband got PMF and his consultant said there is concern that shingles would be really bad for him to catch. So we just go along with what he says. We do have a lot of faith in him.
Hi I had my fourth jab yesterday I rang the haematologist nurse and she sent me a letter with all my results on and at the bottom of letter said I should have a fourth jab they did read the letter at the centre and typed it all onto the computer they were very nice hope you get your letter and jab Poppy
I didn’t get a letter or an email from anyone about my 4th jab, I just had a text from my surgery telling me to book one. Maybe it depends on where you live
